Yes!! Thank goodness that after last week's episode we have returned to good SG-1.

First up - "Prototype"
This was good. There was lots of team, but also each doing what they do best. I must admit, the fact that Daniel suggested "euthanising" Khalek, bothered me. I know Daniel has changed a lot since the beginning of the series, but it still seems very contradictory to his personality. I know they had that whole "I'm the last person that would suggest this" caveat, but it still seemed off. If it had to be suggested (which I think it did), it would have been better coming from someone else. Even Teal'c. Not that I think any of them would suggest outright killing someone, the Daniel thing just irks me. But, moving on, can I just say humina humina to Khalek. Holy crap. Why do the evil guys all have to be so hot? And that moment he turned and did that thing where he looked up through his lashes, guh. And now I know, there has to be some Daniel/Khalek stuff going on. There was some serious chemistry going on between them. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new writer. He just needs to write everything from now on. Please. And the ending. Damn. Daniel delivering the fatal shot. Really goes to show how much he's changed. But is it really a good thing? I think so. He's not the wide eyed innocent he once was. He's come to realize that there can't be good in everyone. Some people are just evil. Period.

Then we had "The Fourth Horseman"
Another great episode. We're finally seeing the Ori getting closer to Earth. Gerak was great in this ep. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the Jaffa. And a US-wide plague. This is the first time we've really seen anything from the Stargate program have a national implication like this. Yeah, there was that S6 ep with the invisible bugs, but that was really lame and didn't leave the state. How they're going to contain this is going to be...interesting. And OMG. Gerak is a prior. Holy shit. And now we have to wait until January?!?! Not Fair! Goo.

So, that's that. January can't get here fast enough now. But it will be here before we now it.

I liked Fourth Horseman the best. How about that opening shot of Daniel and Cameron going to play basketball? *GUH*

Then the black bandanna again, but it was just a tease before the cliffhangar. Dammit! *stomps foot*

Someone else equated Daniel in Prototype with Daniel in Bloodlines (killing all the symbiotes--and then happily eating an energy bar a short time later). 'That makes sense to me. This is who Daniel has always been. I thought MS was brilliant in this episode. I actually didn't like Daniel in Beachhead or Ex Deus Machina (especially EDM--gosh, I hated that episode) for the reasons you state here, but in Prototype, I totally bought that that was Daniel. He's a little more cynical and universe-weary, but he's still the same gentle man he always was, IMHO.

**loves Daniel***

OTOH, I thought TFH was such a meh episode. I didn't hate it, but I just didn't like it either. I didn't care at all about the plague or the Jaffa stuff or anything that was happening, really. Everything was happening off screen--no tension, no urgency, no drama to anything. (Or at least, that's how it felt to me. hehe I'm surprised to see how many people on my flist liked TFH and didn't like Prototype. hehe Not everyone, but a lot.)

Maybe in Part 2 we'll see more of what trouble Daniel & Mitchell were in, but that's the only part that interests me right now. Oh, that opening scene there was awessome, though! hehe I loved the smelling of the armpits. I just LOL when I saw that.

I just love S9 so far. Thanks to the generous and talented people who make it available elsewhere I have been able to watch it. ; ) S9 will be airing here in Canada starting on Nov. 10.

I thought that Daniel saying they should kill Khalek really emphasized just how serious a threat his is. I think it really showed that Daniel has learned from his past experiences. Now that I think about it, I think we are supposed to be irked by it. It really is a monumental moment for DJ. He is now making the really tough decisions while keeping that sense of wonder and compassion that I just love about him. He has not become cynical or hard.

Except for 7 eps, I don't have much use for S6.

I hate winter but the one good thing that will make it almost bearable will be new S9 eps that I will actually be able to watch first run on TV!!!!!
