QAF: B/J 506 Gapfiller
Apr. 29th, 2007 09:45 amTitle: The Same
Author: Switch
Rating: PG
Summary: Just a little gapfiller for the scene in 506 where Brian is trying on every black shirt he own.
Disclaimer: I'm just playing. Please don't sue me. I have no money anyway.
A/N: Un-betad. But really short. Enjoy! :-)
“You know. When I was in LA, fucking around, it was fine. But when I came back here and you said the offer still stands and to put my stuff in the drawer…. I was hoping it meant we were finally going to be a real couple. Like Michael and Ben. One day we might have the things they have – a house, maybe even a family.” ~Justin, Queer as Folk, 506
+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+
“What the fuck would ever make you think that?” Brian asked.
“I don’t know,” Justin replied. “I was hoping that maybe you had…changed. But that’s never going to happen, is it?”
“Why should I change, huh?” Brian said growing angry. “What the fuck would that prove?”
“That you love me!” Justin replied. “And don’t give me that bullshit answer about not believing in love because you so love me, Brian.”
“So, what? I change to fit into this preconceived notion you have about what a perfect life should be? Then in five years, what? You’ll get bored, I’ll get bored. One of us will fuck around and because you’ve decided that real partners don’t do that, one of us will get mad, storm out and never come back. Why, yes! That’s just a wonderful reason to change, isn’t it?”
“Oh, will you come off your high horse already! We get it. You hate marriage. You think it’s a sham. Well, guess what, Brian? You are not your parents. Don’t let their fucked up marriage ruin any chance you have of being happy.”
“Who says I’m happy? Do I look happy to you?”
Justin was finally fed up of all the same bullshit Brian kept spewing. It seemed like he only kept spitting it out to remind himself of what he was supposed to believe.
“You know what? Fuck it. You want to go out and fuck half of Liberty Avenue, go right ahead.”
With that, he turned back to his computer and tried to tune out Brian stomping around the bedroom, trying on every black shirt he owned that all looked the same. He seemed to have finally decided one as the clamor died down. He heard Brian’s footsteps coming into the living room.
“I’ll be home by three,” he said as he placed a kiss on Justin’s cheek.
Damn that man, Justin thought. Damn that beautiful, infuriating man. Justin shut down his computer, walked into the bedroom and began to gather his things.
THE END
