And I'm completely bored out of my skull. This is seriously the dumbest episode ever. There is no sense of peril. We're know they're going to survive. It's McKay, Carter and Keller. They're not gonna die. Martin Gero is usually better than this. I'm very disappointed...
And that was such a waste of an hour. Seriously, what was the point of that episode? And what was the "big hint" about Sam's love life we were supposed to get? I don't get it. I think that's an episode that will be skipped over when the box set arrives....

Date: 2008-02-09 10:22 am (UTC)I was surprised that I actually liked it because Sam and New!Doctor, because...well, Sam, and I haven't liked New!Doctor so far. I also tend not to like episodes where everyone is separated quite this much except when I do. This Sam reminded me just a tiny bit of Early!Sam, but with less spunk and less innovation.
I agree with you about there being no sense of peril. It reminded me a bit of Prisoner or some early SG-1 episodes like that, except...just a shadow of that, because there was no peril, no real sense of danger. I didn't really feel that same sense of desperation or jeopardy that I remember in an episode like Prisoners. I remember Whatshername Destroyer of Worlds protecting Sam and Jack taking Daniel's glasses and the whole food thing and... Damn. That was a good episode.
What were we talking about again? Oh, right, Stargate Atlantis. heh I fear nothing will ever be loved by me the way I once loved SG-1. **cries but just a little bit**

Date: 2008-02-09 09:17 pm (UTC)Yeah, that was one of the things in the GW episode guide spoiler thingy. *shrug* No idea what it was. But kind of glad there wasn't anything cos if they were gonna do what I was afraid they were gonna do, I might have had to abandon the show completely...
And, yeah. No peril at all whatsoever. There wasn't even any kind of personal growth for anyone. No startling revelations about anything. It was so boring. Now take Abyss. THAT is how you do a box episode. There was no dirt, no ceilings falling down, but it's definitely one of the best episodes EVER. Ya know, they really need Rob and Brad back. As snotty as Rob can be sometimes, at least he knew what he was doing. Joe is just a freaking moron and needs to go away. Far away. Far, far, far away. For a long time....
