I hate people
Oct. 22nd, 2008 08:36 amSomeone stole my Stargate mug off my desk at work. Why?? No one else here know what Stargate even is!! And it's that cool temperature changing one Creation had. I won it in one of the trivia contests a couple years ago. Well, guess what fuckers. We have security cameras now. Don't know how the hell you could have missed them. And there's one that looks down right on my desk. Ha! Sent an e-mail to the HR lady and hopefully she'll send out some sort of mass e-mail asking for the return of it. I mean, really. Why would you take a mug that you have no idea what it's about? Oh! And the other thing that makes no sense - sitting in pretty much the exact same spot was my "cappuccino" mug that says Stuckeybowl on it from the TV show Ed. I would think that would have been much more attractive to someone. It's a hell of a lot bigger. Dumbass.
And my laptop has another fucking Trojan on it. WTF. I don't get computer viruses and people that create them. There's no point to them. None at all. I really, really hope we won't have to completely reformat my computer for the third time this year. My husband gave me something to try when I get home. Cos Trend Micro can find it, but it can't clean it, cos it's always running for some reason. But, we have an external hard drive case thing, so I'm going to hook up mine to his laptop, so mine won't be the primary one and then won't be running anything. And then, hopefully, Trend can find the nasty sucker and clean it out.
And work is being so aggravating this week. There's this one client that can't communicate what they want and now apparently can't make up their mind about what they want. Or tell everyone else within that company what they want so everyone knows what's going on.

Date: 2008-10-22 03:56 pm (UTC)It's raining so hard I think I need to make with the building of an ark here pretty soon, I have no money and scored a 68% on my assessment exam. I think we need to just write this week off and start over next week.

Date: 2008-10-22 08:38 pm (UTC)May I respectfully suggest that your antivirus software might not quite be up to the job if you've had 3 trojans this year? What browser do you use? If you're on IE I'd recommend switching to Firefox immediately. Apart from the cool multiple tabs and add-ons, it's much less prone to infection by that sort of thing. *sends you computer cleansing vibes*

Date: 2008-10-22 10:27 pm (UTC)The anti-virus caught it as soon as it started doing what it wanted to do. I do use Firefix. The thing is, I have a love for torrents to try out albums and stuff before I buy. And I went to go process one and that's when it all went haywire. I just need to stop downloading shit....

Date: 2008-10-23 06:51 am (UTC)I hear ya with the downloads. You should be fine to keep downloading, as long as you scan the files individually before you run them. If you right-click on the file, there should be an option to scan that single file manually.

Date: 2008-10-23 11:40 pm (UTC)Years ago, I worked at a place and had my Alabama coffee mug stolen by a co-worker. I knew he did it and he told me he'd get it back to me, but never did. I hope that fat bastard rots in hell.
As you can see, I still have issues. *g* But, I got this mug while I was at Alabama at a little shop near campus and have never been able to find anything remotely like it since.
