Someone stole my Stargate mug off my desk at work. Why?? No one else here know what Stargate even is!! And it's that cool temperature changing one Creation had. I won it in one of the trivia contests a couple years ago. Well, guess what fuckers. We have security cameras now. Don't know how the hell you could have missed them. And there's one that looks down right on my desk. Ha! Sent an e-mail to the HR lady and hopefully she'll send out some sort of mass e-mail asking for the return of it. I mean, really. Why would you take a mug that you have no idea what it's about? Oh! And the other thing that makes no sense - sitting in pretty much the exact same spot was my "cappuccino" mug that says Stuckeybowl on it from the TV show Ed. I would think that would have been much more attractive to someone. It's a hell of a lot bigger. Dumbass.

And my laptop has another fucking Trojan on it. WTF. I don't get computer viruses and people that create them. There's no point to them. None at all. I really, really hope we won't have to completely reformat my computer for the third time this year. My husband gave me something to try when I get home. Cos Trend Micro can find it, but it can't clean it, cos it's always running for some reason. But, we have an external hard drive case thing, so I'm going to hook up mine to his laptop, so mine won't be the primary one and then won't be running anything. And then, hopefully, Trend can find the nasty sucker and clean it out.

And work is being so aggravating this week. There's this one client that can't communicate what they want and now apparently can't make up their mind about what they want. Or tell everyone else within that company what they want so everyone knows what's going on.

People are disgusting. *nods and joins you in hating people*

Sometimes trojans need to be cleaned manually. If Trend Micro can identify the name of it you can search their site for info about it. Most of the time they have detailed descriptions how to remove them. If not, try finding different virus protection software.

Jerks. I hope the person returns your mug.

Doing a scan on the drive outside the computer like that should work. It's what I generally do with badly infected hard drives.

Apparently I need to come and be employed by your company to babysit your personal possessions when you are not there. Coffee Mug Bodyguard (TM)!!! Totally put my skills as an ass kicker to good use. Frakkers. Hate people sometimes too.

It's raining so hard I think I need to make with the building of an ark here pretty soon, I have no money and scored a 68% on my assessment exam. I think we need to just write this week off and start over next week.

People that have no respect for other people's property just piss me off. Someone kept taking my Purple Ronnie mug out of the lunch room when I worked at the Bank, and I stuck a big note in it, asking that people not use my mug, especially since I had a gigantic, weeping cold sore. And you know what? Someone still took it. I found it on one of the managers' desks. I hope he got herpes from me.

May I respectfully suggest that your antivirus software might not quite be up to the job if you've had 3 trojans this year? What browser do you use? If you're on IE I'd recommend switching to Firefox immediately. Apart from the cool multiple tabs and add-ons, it's much less prone to infection by that sort of thing. *sends you computer cleansing vibes*

Yeah, we tried some initial things last night, but then it just got too late to still be messing with stuff. More to do today...

Cool. Just found out though that the external hardware (if that's the right word) is too small to support the size of my hard drive. Argh!! So hubby will be stopping at Best Buy on his way home to pick up a bigger one....

Writing off this week sounds good. I'm with you on that. Ugh.

((HUGS)) to you. Stay safe in the rain. Guess I have that to look forward to tomorrow.

The thing is, there was never really a big issue with property being stolen until my company opened this new division that's basically a call center. So, it's staffed with people barely out of high school that don't want to do any real work. Guess what happened? Someone ganked three (yes, THREE) flat screen TVs from that floor upstairs. Now we have security cameras and everything is going on extreme lockdown. People suck.

The anti-virus caught it as soon as it started doing what it wanted to do. I do use Firefix. The thing is, I have a love for torrents to try out albums and stuff before I buy. And I went to go process one and that's when it all went haywire. I just need to stop downloading shit....

Me, too. Want to rip them a new one. Fuckers.

(Baby!David!! Squee!! Hehe. He was so adorable when he was younger. Not that he isn't now. Just in a totally different way.)

Ah, the dreaded call centre. We had some, er, characters in ours when I worked in the same building.

I hear ya with the downloads. You should be fine to keep downloading, as long as you scan the files individually before you run them. If you right-click on the file, there should be an option to scan that single file manually.

Years ago, I worked at a place and had my Alabama coffee mug stolen by a co-worker. I knew he did it and he told me he'd get it back to me, but never did. I hope that fat bastard rots in hell.

As you can see, I still have issues. *g* But, I got this mug while I was at Alabama at a little shop near campus and have never been able to find anything remotely like it since.

It's like, if it was just a generic kind of mug I could get anywhere, it wouldn't be that big a deal. But this is very specific, very special kind of thing. Asshats.
