I, too, got super excited that we were gonna get surprise!John, but really, I don't think Dean could handle being tortured by his father again, so all in all, it's a good thing he didn't show up.
And I'm a horrible television watcher; I didn't get any of the references to other shows except for that goofy Japanese game show and Knight Rider.
Oh, and the old guy they cast to play old!Dean? To me looks nothing like Dean. Whis googled him for me last night, and the first thing I saw were these bright blue eyes, like Shanks blue. I don't get it; seriously. This is supposed to be Dean in 25 years, right? Which would make Dean 55. This guy is 73! Why the hell didn't they just ask Jensen's dad to do it?
