A/N: This story is actually set pre-Matrix. If you've seen The Animatrix series, this is based off The Second Renaissance Part I and Part II. You can download a copy of the transcript here. It's just a 3 page Adobe file, but it might help explain some things if you aren't familiar with that part of the story. There is one line of dialogue lovingly borrowed from that cos it was just so perfect and was the inspiration for the whole thing. HUGE thanks toerin_anderson and nikki_dichotomy for the beta. You girls kicked my butt and made the story much better than it originally was. Now, on with the show!
