Her Minor Thing
Jan. 29th, 2009 01:53 pmI got around to watching Christian's movie "Her Minor Thing" last night as hubby was working late. Let's just get a few things out of the way:
1) Estella Warren really can't act that well. Might explain why I haven't seen her in anything since that Planet of the Apes remake.
2) Really bad ADR in some spots that was almost too distracting and making me want to turn it off.
3) No female IT tech would ever wear a short skirt like that as they might have to be crawling around on the floor at a moment's notice.
OK, so, with that said, I thought it was OK. Michael (Weatherly) and Christian really made me enjoy it more that I probably would have if they weren't there. The story idea was definitely interesting, but the script seemed a bit shallow(?), if that's the word I'm looking for. It does definitely feel like a guy wrote it and I can't help wondering how it might have turned out had a woman written it instead.
There were a few things that confused me: Who exactly was Jeana working for? Did she work directly for the fire department? And why would a fire department need a full time IT tech on duty? Or did she work for some third party IT company and the FD was their client? I'm still not really sure.
The whole plan/plot to get the cruise tickets back seemed way too overly complicated. Especially since it shouldn't have been needed in the first place. To get to the cruise, they had to fly. Which means, the plane ticket would have been in her name, regardless of who paid the full amount. And I'm guessing the cruise ticket had to be in her name, too. So, no one could use her tickets but her. Period.
So, yeah, it was okay. Doubt I'll be watching it again and I can see why it went straight to DVD.
