Aug. 17th, 2011 08:12 pmOther than being burnt to a crisp, vacation has been wonderful so far. A whole lot of nothing, which can be really awesome. :-)
Monday we went to go pick up the bikes to get around the island. There's really 2 main ways to get around here: bicycle and golf cart. The roads are very narrow and all residential, and the max speed is only 25, so driving a car around the place doesn't really make much sense. Then we went and laid out at the beach. And that's it. LOL
Tuesday, we went for a bike ride in the morning. Found some BEAUTIFUL houses on one end of the island. I may have to go back and take a picture of my favorite for you. Then we went to the pool. Then hubby and I had to go find a Best Buy or something because I brought the wrong cords for charging the video camera my parents bought us specifically for this trip. *facepalm* Luckily, there is one in the next big town over, so we got what we needed. Yay! :-) Then there was a huge ordeal with the grocery store that I'm not even going into right now. Ugh. It was a mess.
Today, another morning bike ride. I swear, I've probably ridden about 50 miles since we've been here. And it's been years since I last rode one. My thighs were burning! Then after lunch, back to the beach where I got cooked like a Christmas Goose! LOL So, tomorrow I'm taking the day off. I think I'm going to go get a manicure at the island salon with my sister-in-law. I need one badly. My nails are a mess.
After dinner this evening, we went back to the beach where they were doing a check on one of the turtle nests. In a moment that is both \o/ and :-( there were no live hatchlings to be found. The nest had hatched about 90% and they all made it out safely.
