I was wondering about this. Is it a contest, or like just a fic writing fest, or what? Do you 'claim' the one you want in the comments?

It's just a fest. You can reply that you're working on a prompt or just go ahead and write. Then reply to that prompt with your fic when you're done, making sure to follow the posting rules in the guidelines. Pretty simple. :-)
