switch842: (Glee: Kurt Likes Boys)

Oh, Prom....

I went into this episode with a little trepidation. I never went to my prom and it seems Glee has a way of bringing out things I had long forgotten and moved past. I was pretty much Mercedes in this episode. Only without the happy ending...

Let's do the rest of this list style.

  • Very glad it was Kurt that asked Blaine. And also very interested in hearing more of Blaine's history. It does seem the bullying was perhaps more severe than we were first lead to believe.

  • The Jesse development is quite interesting. I don't mind it so much, really. While his storyline ended, the story itself never really felt finished to me. I'm glad to see him back, trying to fix things with Rachel.

  • Kurt making his own prom kilt/suit is awesome. You go, Kurt Hummel! I was happy to see Burt bring up the issue with his chosen outfit. I knew Kurt would wear it anyway, but it was something that needed to be said, I think. And it looks like Blaine is settling in nicely with Kurt's family. Yay! Can we get some more Burt & Blaine next season, please? :-)

  • Artie made me cry. The first time. His voice is gorgeous and that song & performance were very sweet. I am also proud of Brittany for still saying no, though. She's really come along these last couple eps and it's kinda nice to see a girl being all, "I'm going to prom stag. What of it?" That's awesome. And it does leave the window open for a possible Brittana reconciliation. Especially after their last scene together. *fingers crossed*

  • Dave made me cry the second time. I like, hate him and feel bad for him all that same time. It's so confusing!! But that little scene with Kurt in the hall was fantastic. He wants to come out. You can tell he does, but there's still something just holding him back. I want to know what that is!!

  • Kurt made me cry the third time. His face! It was just... I don't even know. Seriously, if Chris Colfer doesn't win (or even get nominated) this year, something is seriously wrong. And BRAVO for getting back in there and claiming that crown. They want to call you a queen? Then dammit, be the best & biggest fucking queen you can. *sassy snaps*

  • Blaine's song and dancing? AWESOME! Please do this on tour, Darren. Please? :-) (Which, ugh, I have thoughts and concerns about the tour that I need to put down in writing and hopefully have someone assuage them.)

  • Point of contention - Quinn & Finn can almost kiss and cuddle on the dance floor. Jesse can start eating Rachel's neck and all we get of Kurt & Blaine are a couple shots of them holding hands and a bit of dancing? No hug even or anything in comfort after Kurt's little breakdown? Really? Come one! Give us something please! It's like, are they a couple or not?? Grr...

I think that's all. The next two weeks should be verrrrrrrrrrry interesting.

I'm so with you on all of this. I still can't even talk about the episode without getting teary. WTF? When did Glee become the show that made me cry? It's like the third or fourth time this season.

I mean, it's not like I want them dirty dancing or eating each others faces off or something. But they're high school kids. They're high school BOYS. They're GAY HIGH SCHOOL BOYS who finally have found each other and can do boyfriendy things with. Like, give him a reassuring kiss after he has a little breakdown in the hall. An arm around his shoulder/waist as they walk back to the gym. You know, just SOMETHING.

I'm pretty sure I've cried at least every other week this season. Especially when all the Kurt stuff really started going down and then Blaine and then Santana and ugh. Where's my happy-go-lucky, completely ridiculous Glee from season 1? LOL

Pretty much since Grilled Cheesus, Glee = tears at least once an episode or something.

I know! Preaching to the choir here! :) <3

I'd have loved at least a hug, even several hugs. Especially after Blaine pulled Kurt to his feet. That would have been an excellent moment for a hug (even a soft kiss).

I have to ask because I'm not sure I heard correctly, but did Kurt call him Blaine Warbler?
I pretty much watch this show now for Kurt and Blaine (together and separately) I just love them so much!

OMG COULD KURT HAVE BEEN MORE ADORABLE IN THIS EPISODE?!

He was so cute all the way through the episode which was what made the Prom Queen announcement such a punch in the gut. (I mean, it wasn't much of a surprise, but having Kurt's happiness whisked away was so painful.)

I really loved all the Kurt scenes, and I adore how comfortable Blaine is with Finn and Burt. ♥ They all seem so happy and relaxed! ♥

Also, even though I would have loved for Blaine to hug or kiss Kurt to help reassure him, I totally understand why maybe they didn't. I mean, I remember often being hesitant to kiss my boyfriend in public and I didn't have the added stress of possibly being beaten up for it! While it would have been more emotionally satisfying for the viewer, in terms of reality, that felt very true to me.

I feel like Kurt and Blaine feel like a very real relationship. Even though Kurt can be a little over the top and he wants the Romance, they are portrayed very realistically (unlike the relationship calendar Rachel forces on Finn). I completely adore and appreciate their relationship as it's presented. They are seriously the best couple on television. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Excuse me, I have to rewatch all the Kurt parts before I go to work. *chinhands*

I can understand that, about Kurt & Blaine. I just hope they get something at some point, probably next season. I mean, all the other couples have had their moments (the whole Like A Virgin scene, Tina dragging Mike into an empty classroom, etc). And, you know, it doesn't need to be in public, in school or anything like that. But, can't they have that, too?

But all that said, it does feel very real. Much more so than any of the other couples for sure. So, that's YAY! :-)

Kurt and Blaine are much more my high school experience than any of the het couples.

Which, okay, probably actually says a lot about me. *snickers*

I agree. I wished we had gotten a kiss at Breadstix after Kurt asked him. I also wanted to see them slow dance. Why not? More affection would've been nice during Kurt's meltdown.

But Kurt did get to dance with his prince. *Fangirl puddle*

    I just finished the episode.

I maintain that kurofsky may not actually be gay. I know that saying he's 'confused' is just a straight person cliche, but I don't mean it like that. We've seen that he's exactly who his father wants him to be and is afraid to be anything else. He's very repressed in that house. Anyhow, this may be more of a confusion over finding his true identity than anything else. Does that make sense?

And was it wrong of me to cheer for kurt when they announced him as prom queen? He's totally awesome, nothing can change that. I'm kinda surprised he was that hurt by it, I expected him to be more like "Hell yeah I am!" and take that crown and look amazing doing it. Seriously, how awesome was that outfit?

Anyways, I hate Jesse, I don't like his voice and they basically destroyed 'rolling in the deep', it's not their fault though, that song cannot be sung any better than adele sings it. And Rachel, at least, redeemed herself with 'Jar of Hearts'. Sure, christina perri's version is much better, but at least it was well suited to her voice.

I really shouldn't still be awake. I'm leaving now.

    This is my Karofsjy theory:

He started realizing he was gay. Or at least had some interest in guys. Around that time, he heard his dad make some offhanded, demeaning joke/comment about gay people ("That's so gay." "Don't be fag."). Not necessarily meaning to be vicious, but like Burt said, that's just how they would talk. So, Dave starts going into this like shame-spiral and doesn't know what to do or how to deal so he lashes out and takes everything out on Kurt.

I actually liked the Rolling In The Deep that Rachel & Jesse did. Of course, I've never heard the original, so I have no idea how Adele sounds. *shrug* But I thought it was a cool interpretation. :-)

That could be true. I'm not saying that Karofsky isn't gay, I'm just saying he's never had the chance to really find out. And I think the situation with his dad is more serious than we've seen. It's mostly just a feeling I get, but did you see how he behaved when they all met in the principals office? He was a completely different kid around his dad, which is a red-flag.

How do you know he's never had the chance to find out? I mean, what would he need to do to find out? He's a football player. He's surrounded by half-naked athletic men all the time. It wouldn't take much for an eye to start wandering.....

But all that side, his behavior in front of his dad is really what makes me think his dad has something to do with his issues in whatever capacity that is.
