Thor was decent enough. It was probably a little too heady but I strongly suspect that being due to Kenneth Branagh helming the project. He's an excellent Shakespearean director, and you could see elements of that in Thor, but that may not have been the best way to portray the story. It's still worth watching. Chris Hemsworth is going to return for a Thor 2 but Branagh won't be. The best reason for seeing Thor is for its relationship with the other Avenger movies and especially next year's Joss Whedon directed The Avengers. All that's left is Captain America.
Green Lantern was far better than I was prepared for. It's a nice fluffy, fun superhero flick. The CGI, especially while on Oa or in space, was evident and a little too much, but there probably wasn't too much that could be done about it. DC superheroes as a whole are probably too fantasy-based to be translated to the big screen with any justice. (Except for Batman because he's more human, and possibly Green Arrow, but that project has been in limbo for ages.) Still, the movie was fun and not a complete waste of time. Especially if you want to see Reynolds in nothing but tight underwear.
