My first wedding update!

switch842Went and saw the first hall today. It was nice. It's actually a converted old barn. It was very rustic. Kinda dark. Ended up being about $100/person after all the extra stuff was added in. Uh, no. I don't think so. The hors d'oeuvres started at $1.50 PER PIECE! Not per plate or whatever. One eggroll cost $1.50. Yeah, I don't think so. So, we're going to visit one place tomorrow (before the Bears game. GO BEARS!) and then another on Monday since I have the day off and so does my mom. And I have information coming from a couple other places.
Then I met my mom at my grandma's house this afternoon. Her cousin is buying it, so we're going through stuff, sorting out what we're going to keep, what we're gonna sell at an estate sale, etc. I found this beautiful ring in my grandma's jewelry box. It's a thin white gold band with 7 itty bitty diamonds in-laid. One is missing, but I think we might actually have it as my mom gave me some little diamonds that we had last year to incorporate in a wedding band or something. And one is about the size of these. So, when we go to my fiance's jeweler guy to have my engagement ring resized (it's like a half size too big), I think we'll take the ring and the little diamond bits and get it refitted. My mom's wedding dress and veil were still there. I think I'm gonna wear the veil myself. It's attached to a custom made Juliet cap my mom wore. But we're gonna take it off that and I'll look for another headpiece of some sort. As soon as I figure out what I'm doing with my hair! :-) And my mom's cousin is also gonna take some of my mom's dress and make a little handkerchief for me to carry, too.
