Hello all my lovely friends! :-D Have returned from the honeymoon in Texas and dragged the hot ass weather back with us, apparently. :-D Anywho, gonna do some unpacking and I'll report back later with some details and pics I have from some friends. Let me just say that the say was PERFECT. Nothing went wrong, it was wonderful.

This is it. Just got back from the rehearsal. I got all choked up when we practised the vows. I hope that got it out of my system and I won't be too bad on Sunday. I'm off to stay at mom's tomorrow and they still have AOHell dial-up, so there will be no netting. Which is OK. The laptop will be coming on vacation, so I'm sure I'll at least check in at some point to let y'all know I'm alive. *VBG*

So, thanks everyone for all the well wishes. Next time I talk to you guys, I'LL BE MARRIED!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!1 :-D

Yay!! With the help of my lovely mother, we were able to get all the placecards put together this afternoon. Woohoo!!

Here be pics )

This one went much better than the first one did. They girl was much nicer and totally understood where I was coming from. And the best part - THEY COMPED ME! Woohoo! I went to pay at the end and told them to add on the tip, and that was all it was! Mario Tricoci is officially in my good graces again.

I feel pretty. Oh, so pretty... )

And in the process of playing around this week, I discovered the veil and tiara don't really work so well together. So, I'll be doing veil only at the ceremony and then switch to the tiara for the reception. Yay! I'm so excited. 16 days to go!!!

I called and scheduled another trial for this Friday. This time I will be with a different stylist who has short hair herself. So, we'll see how this goes. I'm hoping that if I be much more specific about what I want and stuff it will go better. Cos sometimes I have that problem where I'll just kinda let people do whatever. Cos they're the professionals, they know what they're doing right? Well, maybe, but it may not be what I want, I guess. So, keep your fingers crossed, folks. :-D
switch842: (Jack In Control)
<-- So I entered that icon in my first ever icon challenge 2 weeks ago. I did not win, but I'm still kinda proud of how it turned it, so I thought I would share since I can now. :-)

Oh! We're a Nielsen family now. :-D For those of you overseas, the Nielsen ratings is how they determine the most watched programs and demographics for TV programs. And of course, I'm hardly gonna be home this week to watch anything! But they did send $15 cash! Woo-hoo!!

What else?? My wedding shower is tomorrow afternoon. I also have my hair and make-up trial in the morning. So, we'll see how that turns out. Should go fine. It's not like I'm planning some big elaborate updo as my hair is just barely past my ears. I can post some pics if anyone wants to see later.

I am now obsessed with Imogen Heap's song "Hide and Seek." It's so haunting and beautiful. I think I wanna vid QAF to it. Like, a Babylon bombing/Season 5 kinda vid. We'll see. :-D

I think that's all. Back to Dr. Who!!

Lata!

We went to the courthouse to get our marriage license tonight! OMG. I finally talked to the string quartet for the ceremony and got the music sorted out. Finished putting the program stuff together to send to the people putting it all together. Got the first samples of the monogram for the cover of the program. My mom ordered the cookie favors yesterday and the cupcakes for my shower. I'm picking up my veil on Saturday. The bridesmaids dresses came in today. Holy crap. It's like all coming together. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hehe.

So I got this ransom note (Page 1, Page 2) a couple weeks ago. It's gotta be for my bachelortte party, right? So I show it to my fiance and mom and they're both like, you should pack a bag and keep it in your trunk. So I do. Yesterday, I went up to my mom's house to work on a wedding project. All of a sudden, my friend Jen (my matron of honor) walks into the house, hands me this crazy t-shirt, tells me to get changed and off we go. I grab my bag out of the trunk and my mom drives us somewhere - turns out to be the train station. We get on and head to downtown Chicago! Woo-hoo! :D So, I guess Jen and I get in a little early, so we head over to State Street and do some shopping at Old Navy (got the cutest PJs for the honeymoon) and then across the street to Marshall Field's while we wait for...something. I have no idea what's going on. We end up going back downstairs to the first floor of Field's and over to their Nail Bar! Jen & I get there first and we're getting manicures! Yay!! Cindy (the one who sent the ransom note and planned the whole thing) then shows up and I know we're waiting for a fourth person. I figure it's probably her sister. But no! It's my friend Angel who is supposed to be in MINNESOTA and called me that morning saying she was going into work and needed to know the day of the rehearsal dinner so she could put in for it off. I was SO suprised! It was so great. :D

So, the four of us get manicures and then head over to the hotel, which turns out to be the Hyatt. Very nice, very unique. Not the usual hotel rooms. But before Jen and I went up to the room, we got some dinner from the pizza place in the hotel. Cindy and Angel went up to the room to do...something..... Anyway, we get up to the room and they're decorating it by putting up pics of all my "boys" everywhere! There was Michael (of course), David Hewlett, David Duchovny, Jason Behr, Gale Harold, Freddie Prinze Jr, Hugh Laurie, Rob Thomas, Train and Nick Lachey! It was sooooooo awesome. So we eat and then open these goody bags my mom had given Jen. I pull out all this stuff that says "Prom 2006" on it. Now, I never went to my high school prom, and it's been the one thing I've always wished I'd done. So, I get all excited, cos it turns out we're going to The Awesome 80s Prom!! It's this interactive bar/show thing on Weed Street that's the prom for the 1989 Class of Wanaget High (get it?). hehe. BUT it gets even better. I get told to cover my eyes and when I open them, Cindy has this awesomely bad 80s peach prom dress! It was fabulous!! So I had to wear that and CIndy and Angel dressed up, too. Complete with blue eye shadow! Before we left, Cindy's sister, her friend Andrea and her sister's friend Sharon showed up to go out with us. Those girls are crazy! I love them. :D So, I also had a lovely bachelorette tiara and Miss Bachelorette sash.
The show was amazing! It's not really a show. Just a bar, with the actor's in character as all the fabulous 80s movie characters - I danced with "Dickie." He was fabulous. It was the greatest time ever!! I cannot tell you!

Then we went back to the hotel where we broke into the Fabulous Chocolate Mousse Cake from the Cheesecake Factory. Best Cake Ever! Changed back into normal clothes and then we went out to a couple bars. It was good. Had some drinks, did some dancing. Didn't really get drunk, but that's OK cos I still have this cold. But it was seriously so much fun! I love my friends!!

Our wedding invites are going to go in the mail this weekend! OMG!! Fi put all the stamps on the envelopes last night while I was drunk thunking (hehe, he's so great). And I'm going to seal all the envelopes up and off they go. Holy crap! 57 days to go and so much to do. It's pretty crazy!

And I'm going to the Train concert tonight!! Woo-hoo!!! I am so excited!! Especially since I'll be in the 4th ROW!! I love radio contests. :-D

OK. Well, I should go shower and get my day started. Later!
switch842: (Daniel - Rock On)
My wedding invites are done!!!!!!!! OMG. I am soooooooooo happy you have no idea. These are completely 100% hand done. Ok, well 95% since all the printing got done at Alphagraphics. But my fiance and I cut, stamped and assembled everything. My mother was very nice and addressed the envelopes and came over tonight to help put all the insert pages in and put them in the envelopes. ALl that's left is to go to the post office for weighing and stamps.

Here are some pics so you can see the loveliness )
switch842: (Daniel - Rock On)
Creation confirmed Michael will be at the Chicago con today! WOO-HOO!!!!!! :-D This con is shaping up to be one of the best ever. Yay!!

I also wanted to let y'all know I may disappear for the next couple days as I attempt to finish making my wedding invitations. Hope to have that done by the end of the week. I should. It also seems kind of scary. The invites will be done. Which mean they'll be going in the mail shortly. OMG! :-D

OK. So, um, I'll see ya when I see ya!
switch842: (Daniel - Rock On)
Espcially since I had cake today! Went to the cake tasting at the bakery. Very easy decision - 2 tiers will be marble cake with chocolate custard filling. The third will be marble with chocolate mousse. It was very scrumptious and I can't wait to eat it. :-D So far, everything with this wedding has been going very smoothly (knock on wood). I'm not understanding all the things people freak out over. Really. There was this girl on this one message board I visit that was seriously freaking out because the FONT on the back of the envelope that had the return address didn't match the font on the front of the envelope. OH.MY.GOD. It's the envelope. No one is going to keep it. Chill. It's just the envelope. No one is going to keep it.

Then I went dowtown Chicago for a bit with my parents as the fi had to go into work. :-( Didn't buy anything but that's okay. Went to the Burberry store for the first time. Holy nice crap at waaaaaaaaaay too high a price Batman. Their change purses were $110. Guh. But I love it so much. I wish I had money like that. :-( Oh, well. Maybe one day. After I write the Great American Novel. :-)

Took the day off of work to go shopping with mom. She needed a dress for the wedding. First stop - Carson's. Nothing. They had like 4 dresses. OK. No. Then we went over to Marshall Field's. Found it! Yay!! It's actually a dress I saw that she didn't really like and didn't want to try on. But I made her. And she loved it. Yay!! It's very pretty. Two piece - long skirt and jacket. It's a light green satin that's got that kind of opalescent sheen to it. It's very nice. Perfect! And then she found an outfit for the rehearsal dinner. Got purses for my bridesmaids as part of their gift. And she bought me one of those cool skinny colorful scarf accessory things. Yay! I love my mom. Also found a ring bearer pillow. Got boxes for the wedding cake card box. And it looks like it's going to rain any second now.

Tomorrow is our cake tasting! Yummy!! I can't wait. Sugar and chocolate. What more could a girl want? :-D

I think that's all for now. Later!

I must say, I was disappointed. I so did not like Chloe's collection at all. (BTW, you can view all the collections here.) I didn't realize that it was 1984 and Dynasty was back in full swing. Seriously, what was with all those shrugs and big shoulders and stuff? Daniel's stuff was just so gorgeous. That white cashmere coat? Where can I get one? That is one of the most beautiful things I think I've ever seen. I'm very happy Michael Kors said that thing about Daniel giving him a call if he wants a job. Surprisingly, I really liked Santino's collection. Even his was better than Chloe's. It was a much more mature and sophistacted Santino and something I wish we had seen in the show. I guess now we'll just have to wait until next season now.

WARNING: Here be the pity )

Woo-Hoo!!

I won tickets for the Train concert in Chicago on the radio this morning!! Yay!!! Before they even went on sale. My obsession with The Matrix has paid off. :-D The morning show was doing this thing where you had to call in and reenact a scene with more than one character from your favorite movie. If you stumped them, you won. Out of the three contestants I was the only one that stumped them! I've never won anything from the radio before. This is actually the first time I've ever even gotten through to them! Yay! This week is so much better than last week already! I hope it stays this way.

We also decided on bridesmaids dresses. Just need to figure out where we will be ordering them from. I'm very excited. The one we went with was one of my favorites. It's this one:
The dress )

They'll be in Sky blue with a lighter blue trim. Should look very nice. I can't wait!!

We started our registries tonight! Woo-hoo!! Registered for the good pots and pans, china, flatware, some glassware. Ah, the joys of the internet. :-D Which is good cos I was in a bit of a funk today for some reason. I think I was suddenly overwhelmed with the OMG how the hell am I gonna do this kinda thing.

Oh, and it's the Chocolate Challenge on the Food Network right now. Yum!!!!!!!! :-D
switch842: (Brian Smile)
They lost my baby book! I need a copy of my baptismal certificate for the wedding and they have a copy on my baby book. Well, they can't find it. But they have 2 for my one brother. *sniff* My parents don't love me any more. :-P Anywho, no biggie. I can call the church for a copy if they can't find it.

What else? Booked the photographer. Booked the limo. We're going with this limo company that rolls out a red carpet when you exit the church! How cool is that? I think it's pretty awesome. Only thing left, really, is the florist. And that should be sorted this week. Yay! Oh, and the fi needs to call about tuxes. But that's his job.

Oh, I'm getting a root canal redone this afternoon. Wahoo. I can't wait. Actually, I will be kind of glad cos the tooth is really sensitive to hot and cold right now. My previous dentist did it and my new dentist has actually been wanting to redo it since I first saw him about 2 years ago.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Chai? Well, I do. It's like the best drink ever. Yummy! I've actually started to befriend the barista at the Starbuck by my work I've been stopping in so much. And, OMG, they have the best croissants. Especially, if you nuke them in the microwave for 30 seconds. Soooooo yummy.

OK. I need to get back to work and the several THOUSAND invoices I need to go thru since our reports are crap. Ugh. Oh, well. Later!
switch842: (Default)
Do any of you have the Stargate soundtrack? If so, would any of you be willing to upload the theme song for me? I want to use it for our reception entrance song. It would love you soooooooooooooo much and make you something in return if you want! Thank you!!!!!!1 **HUGS FLIST**
switch842: (Justin Yay!)
I will be getting married on June 11th. Less than six months away. OMG. But yay!! Now I can start finalizing all the other plans - florist, DJ, photographer, find a church. OK. I better get crackin'!
