So, I met with another photographer last night and have decided to go with the first photographer we met. Due in part to a few things that were said in the meeting. Like, for some reason, she felt that she had to tell me that my bridal party was only in my bridal party to drink. Excuse me? WTF?!?! Have you met my bridal party? Uh, no. Why would someone have the nerve to say something like that? I almost got up and walked out right there. So, here's the thing. When I call to tell them tomorrow that we've gone with another photographer, do I mention that? That that's one of the reasons why we're not going with them? It's just, did she even realize what she was saying? And it's a somewhat professional place with 10 photographers and the chick was the manager of the place or whatever. Is it me? Or was that just a horribly offensive thing to say?

Well, I have to ask... What was the context of the comment? Were you getting along well when she made the comment? Could she just be making a joke? .....I'm assuming that the answers would be: doesn't matter, so-so, and no, from your post. In that case, it WAS very unprofessional of her, and you SHOULD say something about it. Show your concern about her inappropiate comment, but don't get angry about it. Be professional yourself. Be firm, but not confrontational. Your point will get across better. And be sure to tell them that her unprofessional manner is what lost them your business.

Did that help, or did I just come off as a bad impression of Ann Landers? :P

I get what you're saying. And I'm just awful about any kind of confrontation. I did call this afternoon and tell her that we were using another photographer. She didn't even ask why. Wouldn't that be one of the first things you would do?

Only if I was serious about having your business. Which they don't seem to be. So good thing you didn't go with them.

And I'm just awful about any kind of confrontation.

I am too unless it has something to do with customer service. Then I'm all over it. Call 'bad PR' a pet peeve if you will.
