Does anyone else ever feel that sometimes you've read all the good fanfic and are just waiting for your favorite authors to write new stuff? Recently, I've been coming across all these stories that have really great sounding summaries and seem like they could be really cool. But then you start reading and it's just crap. Do people not even have basic grammar skills anymore? Am I expecting too much out of people to know that "sute" is not a word but "suit" is? I mean this is basic 3rd grade level Word spell checker kind of stuff. Does no one proofread their work anymore? Beta it? Honestly, some of the stories I've been seeing lately look like they could have been written by a 4th grader. Which they shouldn't have if the content is anything to go by. Am I only here? Or does anyone else think this, too? I'm just starting to get kind of aggravated with the whole thing really. It's just annoying.

I know what you mean. I'm very lucky to have found a good (ecxellent) fic writer who has become a very good friend who writes CSI, SG1, and House. I help beta her stuff (and she mine) and I've become so spoiled I don't even read other author's anymore. :/

There's actually this really cool feature at bjfic.net where you can save your favorite stories and authors. So when I find a good one, I'll go thru their faves and see what they like. It's quite handy.

I know just what you mean!! I don't even chance it with just anyone anymore. If it's not a writer I'm familiar with or the fic came highly recommended, I don't bother.
