Yesterday at work we had a luncheon thing for Staff Appreciation Day. We ordered Famous Dave's Barbecue - waaaaaaaaay yummy! So, as usual, we had a ton of food left over - 3-4 trays of roasted chicken, tray and a half of BBQ pork, a bunch of potato salad, coleslaw and baked beans, and two trays of corn muffins. Now, these aren't the little trays. These are the BIG catering trays that have a lot of food in them. So we box it all up (about 30 of those styrofoam take out boxes or so), but leave the muffins in their trays, cos they're still wrapped all nice and neat and take it all to the kitchen and put it in the fridge and stuff. We were going to put it back out today if anyone wanted for lunch and then maybe let people take some home if there was still some left. So, I go into the kitchen about 9:15 this morning to get a muffin cos I'm a little hungry. Yeah, they're gone. All the rest of the food is gone. WTF is that about? Why would people just take all that without being told it was OK? In the past, yes, we have allowed people to take leftovers home, but there has always been an announcement of some sort made to let them know it was OK. I just don't get it.
