The "Ask the Answer Bitch" column on eonline.com has a question about fanfic. It's kind of interesting. You can find it here.

Okay, the way that misreprensents slash is pissing me off. Does this person know *anything* about fandom? Or did she just google slash, see 'NC-17' repeated over and over and just assume that slash meant strictly porn? Somebody please inform her that not all slash is porn, and not all porn is slash.

Yeah, that did tick me off a bit. Perhaps I shall write her back and set her straight! :-)

OK. What do you think of this:

This isn't really a questions but is in regards to your answer about someone's inquiry regarding actors reading fanfic. You seemed to imply that "slash" fanfic is anything "NC-17" rated and porn-like. That is not true. Slash is any story where the pairing is between 2 characters of the same sex. There are many, many slash stories that contain no sex or anything remotely adult-themed. As one who writes slash, it may be prudent to correct those other readers that may have come away with a false sense as to what slash really means.

Thank you.

'question', I think you mean.

I'd also like to set her straight about about the difference between RPF/RPS and regular fanfic. I think I might send my own email.
