switch842There's this pirate ship that's out sailing the seas. The captain is on deck, enjoying the beautiful day when he spots 3 enemy ships on the horizon!
He calls out to his first mate, "Matey! Get me my red shirt!"
The first mate grabs the captains red shirt, he puts it on and they go forward bravely into battle. The fight is long and hard but the pirate ship is victorious over their enemy! Yay!!
A few weeks later, the captain is on deck again enjoying the lovely day, when he spots 7 enemy ships on the horizon!
He calls out to his first mate, "Matey! Get me my red shirt!"
First mate runs off to grab the shirt and they move boldly forward into battle. This battle is even longer and many men were lost on both sides. But the pirate ship is again victorious over their enemy! Yay!
A fwe days later, the first mate comes up to the captain and asks, "Cap'n. Why do you always ask for your red shirt before we go into battle?"
The captain replies, "I wear the red shirt, so if I should get injured, the other crewmen won't see me bleeding and they'll be more willing to fight if they think I'm OK."
That makes sense to the first mate, so he goes about his duty.
A few days later, the captain and first mate are on the deck again, when they see 13 enemy ships on the horizon!
The captain says, "Get me my brown pants."
