Quick torrent question for my friends -

I'm downloading some episodes and I'm using uTorrent. I've used it before and I'm not sure if this time it's slow cos I have like 5 going at once or if they're broken. I started last night and I still don't have the full episodes. Before, when I've used for one ep here and there, it was only a couple hours and I had the file. These all have a status of "Seeding." What does that mean? I looked through their Help site, but it wasn't very helpful. Are the torrents broken? Or are they just slow? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Seeding is when you have most or all of a file and you are sending it back out into the Internet, for others to download just like you did before you started seeding. It's polite to seed, otherwise how would people get the files, and those few who did have them would be overwhelmed by the number of those who want it. :)

Sometimes torrents can be slow, sometimes very fast. It really depends on how many people are seeding, how many peers there are, and what connection speed they have.

I use ABC, which is modeled off of BitTornado. It's designed to queue as many torrents as you want, so you can have multiple downloads going at the same time or have them wait in line until one is finished. It can be pretty useful for controlling bandwidth.

Thanks. I actually found the issue was with our firewall. It was blocking that port that uTorrent was trying to use so nothing was going anywhere. All is now working, though.

But thanks for the hints! :-)
