I'm about 95% sure I have developed carpal tunnel syndrome. My wrist and arm have been bothering me for about the last week and a half. At first, I just thought I had slept on my arm funny. But it hasn't gone away. And it's now developed into the tired/fatigued/I can't hold onto anything anymore kind of thing. Like, I can't even hold onto the steering wheel of my car that well. Ugh. Anyway, I'm going to the doctor Friday to find out for sure what's going on. If it is carpal tunnel, that will be the THIRD chronic ailment I have on top of my shin splints and costo chondritis (sp?). Yippee. I'll let you know how it goes.

Do you have a burning sensation up your arm to your elbow? I was diagnosed with it, and that's my primary complaint. Feels like fire.

If it came on suddenly, you may want to look at your diet. I know that seems crazy, but more sodium intake can cause or increase swelling and mimic the symptoms.

I sure hope it's not what you have.

I get that sensation very vaguely if I try to make a fist or if I have to write for too long. I do get the same type of pain that is in my wrist in my elbow every now and then. But that could be from holding my arm funny due to the wrist pain.

I hope it's not carpal tunnel, too, cos that would just suck ass so bad. I think I'm gonna stop and get a brace from Walgreen's on my way home as holding it still seems to help. Guess we'll find out Friday for sure.

*HUGS BACK*

I never had a burning sensation. Just numbness and the feeling of my hand falling asleep virtually all the time, especially at night. With the brace, it has minimized the falling asleep sensation but I still get that a bunch at night, disrupts my sleep like crazy.

Yeah for me, it's just my hand feeling like it's falling asleep constantly. Numbness and unable to hold onto things very well. But for me, the brace made it a bit better but on days when I do heavy markdowns (it's all paper and pen) in my store or use the ten-key on the register a lot, then I have swollen fingers and the loss of feeling thing a lot that night and the next day. But the computer doesn't seem to bother it too much, I am really not on it as much as you are though I think, with your job and all. At any rate I hope they find something that works for you. On base, all I got to see was some nurse who just handed me a brace, told me to wear it only at night and sent me home. Yeah she was real helpful.

Oy. That's nice.

But it does seem like there are a lot of different "symptoms" of carpal tunnel and how it can manifest itself.

I picked up a brace on my way home so we'll see if that helps at all.
