Smokin' Aces

Just got back from seeing Smokin' Aces. I loved it, hubby did not. It was very action packed but also not quite what I was expecting. In a good way. There were a lot more plot twists and Huh? moments than the ads made it appear. But I think that's a good thing.

And every time I see Ryan Reynolds in a movie, I love him more. He's just so fantastic. I can't comprehend it. Honestly. And he FINALLY broke up with Alanis. Yay!! I've never liked her. She always annoyed the fuck out of me. Is that mean? :-D

SO, if you like Ryan, you will like this movie. Oh, and as a Stargate tie-in, Zipacna was in it! Seriously. It was like this who's who of character actors. Every time someone came on screen, you were like "Oh! I know that guy! Oh! I know that chick." It was pretty cool. :-)

I liked it too. I kept staring at that Tremor brother's mouth thinking "I know that mouth. Where do I know that mouth? And those eyes, I know those eyes..." and it was Zippy! :D I knew Ben's character got killed early but it was still a shock when it happened! Piven was very good in it too I thought.

I was not expecting the killing of Ben Affleck. THat was a shock. And, yeah, Jeremy was awesome. I hear he's become a bit of an ass, though, in real life. Oh, well.
