Hi, everyone! I’m back!
I know I said I would update while I was away, but I didn’t and I’m very sorry about that. The weekend was just so packed with stuff that I was hardly ever in the room for long enough to do anything. And if I was, the internet connection sucked ass so bad, I couldn’t do anything.
But, now I’m back and I shall share all my wonderful stories and photos with you lovely people. I wish I could share the photos from the set tour, but we’re not allowed to post them on the internet. So, sorry about that. Especially since they’re so cool! I was in the gateroom and Atlantis and OMG. It was so amazing.
But, enough of that. On with the report. I’ll do each day in a separate entry and I shall start with .
Thursday was the day we left to fly up to Seattle. We ended up being able to meet Erin at O’Hare and then all fly up together. It was good to be able to do that since she’s made the drive before and is from there so could tell us all the back roads to get around places. The plane ended up taking off about an hour and a half late because of the bad weather back east causing all those planes to be late. But, it ended up being OK and we got into Vancouver about 7:30. Where we promptly checked in, found Chelle and folks in the pre-reg line, then met up with a few folks in the lobby and hoofed it over to Friday’s for the Gateworld dinner.
Dinner was very nice. Dan Payne, Ryan Robbins from BSG, and Damien Kindler were there. We apparently just missed Bam Bam by like 5 minutes. Erin was very disappointed. LOL. We’re eating and David (from Gateworld) starts the raffle thing. Dan Payne had been walking around to some tables, but when David got everyone quiet, he just plopped down in the seat next to me. Oh, darn. Hehe. I got Erin some very nice shots of Ryan’s butt when he was bent over at the table next to us. My husband slapped me for that one (on the arm!). What can I say? It was a very nice butt.
Then at the end of dinner Rainbow Sun Francks showed up. Which was cool. He was looking very dapper in a pink sweater and newsboy cap (pics to come). But I wasn’t able to stay as long cos I had to get over to the Holiday Inn to help Pat set up for our fan party. So, hubby and I left. Erin was put in charge of making sure Dan and everyone got over to our little party. (Why can’t I get that job?)
I walked over with LuAnn and Mike cos I really had no idea where I was going. Found it fine and got the laptop set up with the music. Someone was supposed to bring external speakers, but I guess they forgot. It wasn’t too bad though. And eventually, we got a microphone that was hooked into the room’s speaker system. So, it worked out fine. And I successfully defended my Cup Champion Title against David. Haha!
Dan and Ryan showed up and wandered around for a bit. Methinks they may have been a little but sloshed as at one point Ryan was running around with the Baal stamp we had as an entry thing and was stamping everyone. He even got some poor girl on her forehead. And this ink was really hard to get off. You could tell he felt bad about that after he found that out. Oh, well.
Joy showed up later in the evening (hi! It was so nice to finally meet you!). They hung out for a bit. Found out the Creation Chocolate Party thing sucked ass and ours was a million times better. Ha! Take that Creation!
I think we hung out until about 1:00 in the morning. Then went back to the room and finally crashed.
