switch842: (Daniel - Quest 1)

I need some help from my Stargate folks.

I signed up for the [livejournal.com profile] reel_sg1 challenge and am doing The Matrix (big surprise, right?). But, I'm having trouble fitting Teal'c into the story. I'm not just rewriting The Matrix with the Stargate cast. It's a sort of prequel, if you will. It takes place during the time after Zero One has been established and they have started to plan the scorching of the sky, which was figured out by McKay. Jack is pretty much who he is, but he opposes this idea, but being one of the big guys in the Air Force, he's going to be one of the guys to carry out the plan. Daniel is the leader of the underground resistance (The Prometheus Group) trying to stop this. Sam is a "double agent" working in McKay's lab, but taking information to the resistance. Jack finds out about the resistance and joins with them, doing what he can from inside the Air Force. So, where does Teal'c fit in with this? I have no idea....

Help!!!!!!!!

Could Teal'c be a heavy? Like a muscle guy inside the resistance? Does a lot of thier heavy hitting work? I know, kinda stereo-typing but that's just where I see him fitting in....oh maybe he could be an explosives expert of some kind?? Sorry it's been a while since I have seen the Matrix, but hopefully this is helpful somehow....

I was thinking something like that, but then I was afraid he might not get to do that much. So, hubby had this idea: he's an ex-Navy Seal who went into the private sector and then joined the resistance. So, he could still be the heavy like, but he would have a better background for being able to do things. And we could bring in like Lorne and Reynolds and a bunch of those other folks on "teams". Yes? No?

Hmmmm.... well I definatley see Teal'c being part of the resistance group. So is this actually before a first gen of the Matrix has been established and humans enslaved? If it's during, I'd say Teal'c was one of the first ones freed.

This is pre-Matrix. Before the humans were enslaved at all.

If you don't mind another angle? ;) He's a privateer pilot--from small planes to jets--someone who does jobs for those who need them done, and he doesn't necessarily care who's footing the bill as long as no harm is done. He could be someone who helps carry out the plan?

Ooo! That's a very interesting idea. I may have to ponder that....

Sometimes we get stuck on Teal'c for extreme AUs. *g* We're so used to him being a Jaffa, an alien, that it's hard to think he'd be human and from this planet. Ep 200 cracked me up, putting him as a private eye. I liked that idea. Could be another? *gg*

replace "putting" with "positing" ;) I snorted when I read that over. Made it sound like the entire ep portrayed him as a private eye--which still isn't a bad idea. ;)

I think that would have been totally awesome. Teal'c Private Eye. Coolness.
