Yuppers, that is Mr. Corin Nemec. A friend of mine from the various Stargate conventions let me know about this tiny little expo type thing he was at out by us, so I met up with her today, had breakfast ($20 and like 45 minutes with Corin. Take that Creation!), hung out, got autographs. Also met Ernie Hudson, Horshack, Joanie (Erin Moran) and a crap load of other people. I've also joined the ranks of action figure owners. I picked up a Captain Jack and Doctor (Ten) figures. *facepalm* After it was all over, we went to the bar and hung out for a couple hours with them and Ari Lehman, the guy who played Jason Voorhees in the first Friday the 13th movie. He's pretty awesome.

This expo thing was so tiny. One small room, just tables set up around the perimeter. There was like, no PR. I doubt there were even 75 people there. It probably didn't help that the room had been triple booked that weekend so they had to be done at 2:00. Oopsy.

But, anyway, while we were there, it was brought up that Creation has their monster Star Trek/Star Wars/Battlestar con going on over in Rosemont and Corin expressed interest in going. So, Karen and I ran on over, found that Mama Duck was there. She talked to Adam for us. So, tomorrow, we're taking Corin over there as a surprise guest! Woohoo!! Only, at this point, Adam won't let him set up any kind of autograph table (boo!), but Corin thinks he can talk him into for a small percentage of the proceeds. Keep your fingers crossed that it works out!

So, that's been my day so far! How's yours? :D

Great pic! Was Corin looking really skinny? I saw him in something recently and even though I know film adds a few pounds, he was looking VERY skinny.

You'll have to write up a little bit more about the expo - theme, organizers, etc.

Glad to read that you are having a blast!

He's waaaaaaaaay skinny. But apparently, that's just like his normal weight. He put on 20 pounds to play Jonas so he wouldn't look like nothing next to Judge and RDA. Believe me, this boy eats. He had 2 heaping plates at breakfast. He's gotta have a crazy fast metabolism.

The theme seemed to be non-sports card trading cards. I got some of those. That seemed to be it, really. This (http://www.nonsportcardexpo.com) is the website of the organizers. I think there were maybe 75 people there? It was just tables set up in one of the rooms and you just walked around. Very low key. But very fun. :-)

That is so cool you got to meet them, Nothing exciting like that every happens in AZ, when you want to go to a con you have to plan it and travel :( I totally want to get the Captain Jack and Doctor figures, They just don't have them in stores and online ordering is not my thing really.

That is one of the things I love about being near Chicago. We get EVERYTHING! :-)

These are my first action figures, actually. I don't even have any Stargate ones. They did have this 4 USB Port Tardis that looked just awesome. But, alas, I did not quite have the cash for that one. :-(

I have seen the TARDIS USB thing on a few web pages. IT looks cool, kind of like a collectors item. I am actually dying to get a sonic screwdriver, and then there is this little thing that hangs on your cell phone, it's the TARDIS in a bubble and it beeps and spins when you get a call.

It's only 11 bucks on amazon, but with my cell phone it won't beep. IT only activates off the GSM network, I run on CDMA, but still its really cute.

Hmm. I have no idea what network my cell phone runs on. But I think I shall add it to my wishlist.

what cell carrier do you have? I can tell you all of Verizons are CDMA (I work for them) but I can tell you what system you run on if you want.

If you use a SIM card you are on the GSM network. If you use Telestial it should be GSM. GSM actually means global system for mobile and is the most popular one in the world. That's why when you have a CDMA cell phone (like Verizon uses) you can't take it to many places out of the country (USA), basically only some parts of Canada and Mexico. CDMA means Code Division Multiple Access, basically it was created to utilize digital I believe (on that I may be incorrect) and I am going to shut up now as I sound like a giant geek. But yeah basically unless you are trapped in the US you should have GSM as it's what most international countries use.

I'm right there with you. On the other hand I really do love my phone and I love that I have been able to mess with the settings to turn it into an MP3 player without actually having to pay for the songs from vcast. But don't tell my bosses man they frown upon that :)

Ooo so Corin is gonna show up tomorrow. How cool for you!! If you happen to see Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck) or Tahmoh (Helo) try and snap a pic for me....especially if it's Katee I love her!!

And text me tomorow if you get a chance, I work all day and will be bummed that a) I have to work on my usual day off and b) that I am not up in Chicago. Kansas City sucks!! Even more than it usually does....

*jealous but happy for you*
