Friend Meme from

Dec. 18th, 2007 07:41 pmI know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you for your interest in my words.
But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself? Any old thing at all, the more trivial and fascinating, the better. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they enjoy eating brownie batter while watching old disco movies."
I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

Date: 2007-12-19 04:36 am (UTC)When I was a junior in high school, I sang in Carnegie Hall. No, not alone. My HS choir spent the year learning John Rutter's Magnificat, and in May we traveled to NYC and sang it there, with him conducting. (Also saw Les Mis and the NYC Ballet. :D)

Date: 2007-12-19 05:04 am (UTC)My father brought me a house last year which means I will never, ever have to worry about a paying off a house. How many 31 year olds can say that??
I love old movies and books and am amassing a large collection of both...
I am an organ and body donor and firmly believe more people should do this to save lives.
I have a severe latex allergy which makes life very interesting as latex is well and truly everywhere!
My dream job is becoming a forensic scientist and I'm fascinated by the psychology and minds of criminals and serial killers.
My house is a shrine to my favourite sport...cricket and I was the youngest female umpire in the state of New South Wales in 2003/2004.
I collect teddy bears and have well over 200 of all shapes and sizes.
I have started to collect Buddhas of all shapes and sizes as I am interested in learning more about Buddha and Buddhism, which really annoys my father!!
I am researching and writing a book on my Great Grandfather which I hope to have published someday...
My favourite music is 1930's and 1940's jazz. One of my all-time favourite singers is Ella Fitzgerald and I adore the music of George Gerswhin.
I love to read and often read more than three books at the same time.
I hope this isn't too many...Anything else you think you'd like to know...just ask ;)

Date: 2007-12-19 05:46 am (UTC)1. I have pieces of metal in my body. A six inch steel rod in my spine and now a 6 inch steel screw in my right big toe. Freak of nature, that's me.
2. I have a black belt in Kyokushin, a full contact Japanese karate form. If you are not sure what full contact is, take a street fight and add a few rules. Yes I can kick your ass. ;-)
3. I have four brothers and four sisters. And I talk to one of them on any sort of regular basis. Yes that's family love for you.
4. My father, if he was still alive today, would be in his late eighties. My mother is in her late sixties. I am 27. Do the math. Dysfunction is thy name.
5. I love cats. Like I seriously want to save every cat in the world. I have three. I could own more, but I think my husband might tie me up and shove under the bed if I suggest adopting another cat. Seriously.

Date: 2007-12-19 09:01 am (UTC)1. I still have one of my "milk teeth" left from babyhood....which considering I'm nearly 50 has lasted me damn well...I used to have 3 others but sadly they fell out...the adult teeth never grew in their place...
2. My grandfather was only 2 months shy of his 103rd birthday when he died, his mother was 97 too, so I'm hoping his side of the family's longevity has been passed down to me...
3. I loving gigging and have seen over 100 bands and solo artists live in the past 4 years or so....
Deeds xx
