Torchwood Season 1 Fan Mix

This is my first ever fanmix. I hope you like it. I did this a little differently than I've seen others do. I didn't just pick random songs that remind me of Torchwood, I picked one song for each episode (season 1). Not only that, but I wanted to choose songs that I would actually listen to. So, that added another level of difficulty to the whole thing.
Under the cut you will find the list of songs and reasons behind why I chose them (if you're interested in such a thing :-D). And also the download link. It's a RAR file on megaupload. If you don't have WinRAR you will need that to open the file. It's just another program like WinZip and free. :-)
Let me start off by saying this was a lot harder than I had thought it was going to be. So, some of the songs might be stretching it a bit, but do you have any idea of how hard it is to find a song that could in any possible way be referencing cannibalistic serial killers? It's a lot harder than you think. :-D
And I must thank
discodiva and
eviljr. A couple of the songs below have come from mixes you've sent along and I can't tell you what a lifesaver they were!
TORCHWOOD MIX (Click to download)
101: Everything Changes - All American Rejects, Move Along
"When all you gotta keep is strong, move along, move along like you always do"
Gwen has been throw into this completely impossibly situation and if she wants to make her way through it, the only thing she can do is go with it and just move along.
102: Day One - Space, The Female of the Species
"The female of the species is more deadlier than the male"
This one is sort of tongue in cheek. ;-) But really, the girl is going around and killing men through orgasm. Ya can't get much cheekier than that.
103: The Ghost Machine - Nine Inch Nails, Dead Souls
"Someone take these dreams away that point me to another day"
This one was the hardest one to find a song for. But I finally found this song (thank eviljr), but I went with the NIN version from The Crow Soundtrack. It talks about souls from the past and people calling out. I think it works.
104: Cyberwoman - Goo Goo Dolls, Big Machine
"I'm in love but you don't care"
It's kind of scary how fitting this song is for this episode. It talks about the whole Jack/Ianto/Lisa love "triangle." Ianto being in love and no one caring. How his love for Lisa had made him blind to what she had become and the danger she posed. It's quite amazing how perfect this song is.
105: Small Worlds - Zero1, The Slow Song
"When we lived in the photograph/There was nothing left/To stem the overflow/Fallen angels get torn apart/I can take the pain but I cannot take it slow"
This song speaks to me about the Jack/Estelle relationship from this episode. How he's sort of stuck and moving very slowly through this life while everyone else is moving on with their's and eventually dying.
106: Countrycide - Breaking Benjamin, Dance with the Devil
"Say goodbye, as we dance with the devil tonight/Don't you dare look at him in the eye, as we dance with the devil tonight"
This one is one of the ones that is probably stretching it just a little bit. But if you listen to the song with Ianto & Tosh's part of the story it really does work. I think.... :-D
107: Greeks Bearing Gifts - Dido, Honestly OK
"I just want to feel safe in my own skin/I just want to be happy again"
This speaks very loudly to me about Tosh's mental state during this episode. How she was just so fed up with everything, feeling lost and in a completely vulnerable state.
108: They Keep Killing Suzie - Papa Roach, Getting Away With Murder
"I feel irrational/So confrontational/To tell the truth I am/Getting away with murder"
This one was simple. Suzie was getting away with murder. Simple as that. :-)
109: Random Shoes - Tom McRae, Silent Boulevard
"You count under your breath/Wonder which step comes next"
Big thanks to Deeds for this one. This song really reflects Eugene's experience during the whole episode. How at the beginning he's sort of lost and not sure what's going on. Down to his disillusionment over finding out his father wasn't who he thought he was.
110: Out of Time - Nickel Creek, When You Come Back Down
"You got to leave me now, you got to go alone/You got to chase a dream, one that's all your own"
This one is all about Owen and Diane. How he doesn't want her to go, but sort of understands. And that he'll be waiting when she comes back down.
111: Comabt - Drowning Pool, Bodies
"Let the bodies hit the floor"
Another one that was quite easy to figure out. Owen's mad. Has to get all that aggression out somewhere. Let the bodies hit the floor.
112: Capt Jack - The 6ths, He Didn't
"It'll end in tears/But not for years/If you dance with me"
This song is really just perfect for this episode. It's all about Jack and Jack. (See also my my fanvid for this.)
113: End of Days - Muse, Apocalypse, Please
"declare this an emergency/come on and spread a sense of urgency"
Another one that was really easy to figure out. The world is ending, I think that's the right time to declare an emergency. And I also love the actual music in this song. How it's sort of discordant in parts leading to a feeling that's slightly unbalance. Perfect for this episode.
So, I hope you guys like this. I would feedback as this is the first time I've done anything like this. If there's anything I might want to keep in mind for the next time I do something like this (if I do), that would be great.
Thanks and enjoy!!
