Comment on this post. I will choose six interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.
1) Food Network - I love the Food Network. All the shows. Even though I'm so not a "foodie." Alton Brown in my favorite. I also like Semi-Homemade. Iron Chef America is DA BOMB! And the Food Network Challenges are always crazy. I just LOVE IT ALL!! (Except Rachel Ray. She annoys me. Ugh.)
2) Dance - I love dancing. Been doing ballet since I was 2. Joined a local theater company a few years back doing The Nutcracker and occasionally other shows. Any chance I get to shake my booty I will. Seriously, I will get out on the dance floor and dance by myself if I have to! :-)
3) Matchbox Twenty - Favorite band ever. Love them. Seen every show they've done in Chicago (except the latest tour which I am totally bummed about). Never get sick of their music. Plus it's really good for vidding!! LOL
4) Tattoos - I want more. I have 2 currently. Got my first one senior year in college and 2nd one just last summer. I want at least 3 more. It really is addicting. I kinda wish I was in an industry where I could just get all tatted up and not worry about it. My husband hates them, though. He actually said that it was a good thing he didn't believe in divorce when I came home with my second one. I think he was at least half-joking...
5) Lord of the Rings - One of the greatest works of fiction of all time. The environment is just so rich. The characters so developed. Peter Jackson's movies really are fantastic. They're really as close to the books as you can get without having each movie be about 5 hours.
6) Literature - I was an English major. But I leaned more towards the reading than writing. I love reading. Getting lost in someone else's world. Although it's really been way too long since I've read a book. It's weird, but when talking about "classic" literature, I love English lit more than American lit. All my American lit classes bored me. Sure, there are some bright spots (Edgar Allan Poe). I don't know why. Maybe it's the difference in history and that America is still so new as a country. And Brit Lit goes back centuries (can't tell you how many times I've had to read Beowulf). And Greek and Roman stories. All those myths about the gods are just fascinating (although one can only read Oedipus Rex so many times before you know it by heart).
And that's it. Any questions? LOL
