I want to be a professional con-goer. Seriously, how cool would that be? Just like travel the country, interviewing people. And not just the celebs, but the "regular" people, too. Think it would be possible to ever pull it off? LOL Especially in time to go to Dragon*Con since they just announce GARETH IS GONNA BE THERE!!! Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!

There's a guy here in New Zealand who is a professional cricket watcher. Any game our team plays, anywhere in the world, you can see him on the boundary, wearing a kiwi around his neck and waving a flag.

Personally, I'd prefer to be a professional con-goer, too.

Sounds like a Torchwood panal is starting up.

See if you want to be professional con goer go to UK that is where alot of stars tend to go more; John Barrowman is makeing appearance at a Collectormania event thre just one day but he is doing autos and photos with con goers.

Imagine the craziness with that appearance.

This news about Gareth's appearance at a Con in the USA tells me that Torchwood is no longer seen as the quirky sibling of Dr Who. Torchwood is now a major contender in the Sci-Fi World in it's own right.

*dies* I'd kill to go to Dragon Con. Want to put that money that you are planning on using for the creation con in August towards DC? Since it's a holiday weekend I may be able to swing it. That and Atlanta isn't that far away flying time wise.

You guys would have a blast and then watch out for two gals that like to do action figure porn with Daniel, Vala and Jack!! Thats cats and Whisper they are going this year.

We did that last year in the lines for Stargate to kill time.

Dragon Con is an something you must experience at least once.

And you fly into Atlanta's airport you got a train that takes you to where the con is held at.

Trust me you will have a blast if you go.

And Dragon Con is always a good party time. Not sure what we'd do with that party atmosphere but I am sure we could figure something out. *snicker* I am gonna go check out the list, I have heard of a few folks that will be there, but I don't know everyone. For $65 I may need to start saving my pennies. *muses*

I recommend get your hotel now if you plan to go; they fill up fast.

Also recommend this hotel cause I think this is where we stayed and so did stars.

Atlanta Marriott Marquis

And thats where the autos were; talks are across street from it and dealers room was in another hotel on other side.

But reasonable price and like I said once in a lifetime experience go for it.

It is you have to see on Saturday the costume parade its cool; ok we missed it caught it afterwards but we saw the set up as we were going to eat breakfast and there is enough places to eat around there.

If you room with someone it will save on cost of room; more roommates the better at cost on room. Told Kerri in previous message hotel recommended and you might see Mama Duck there she came with Julie Catilyn Brown to escort guests around. And they were also helping in auto room.

Ask me I can tell you all about it and you seen what the panals were like but that was Stargate not sure of others we mainly stuck with that.

Well you go ahead and squeal over Batman, I will squeal over the Babylon 5 guests that they have (Garibaldi! Na'toth, BESTER BESTER BESTER!!!) and the BSG guests (Oh Apollo and Helo *drool*). And Ryan will want me to get autographs from Harry Turtledove and Anne McCaffrey (Dragonriders of Pern). Yes yes Ryan was encouraging me to go last year and was bummed when I bowed out for the creation con. He wants pictures of stormtroopers from the costume parade. LOL!

Try them all then; like I said they fill up fast.

There are two more hotels to get into.

You can hang out there anyway cause costume contest goes on; I mean you can book a room and if you don't need it cancel it. But just for precautionary reason book a hotel room now.

It looks like the Sheraton is the only one not booked up. But there is also a Wyndham not too far away. And I like that cos I get free internet there. :-)

So, does the con take place in like all the hotels? Or is at a central location? For some reason, I could not find that info on the website!! LOL

The hotel that I told to get room in is where the autos room is at; all the stars will be signing there forget what the name they had for it but thats what that hotel is for.

the talks are in another hotel; I would have to look at pics of the hotels to tell you which that one is.

And the other hotel holds all the dealers table so its spread out between three hotels.

But talks and autos are the big two; and the one where the talks are at has a food court attached to it so its like if you are waiting in line for a talk and someone wishes to get food and hold spot you can.

Thats why cheap you don't get reserved seating but its worth the low price.

Air fare isn't that much I know cause it wasn't for me.

I would arrive a day early before con starts; stake out the places and will give you a chance to get in line early for tickets.
