I've realized that over the last few months I've basically just been skimming right past all the QAF stuff that's been on my flist. Sadly, I just don't really have any interest in it anymore. Which is really kinda sad cos I'm never gonna finish my smut69 claim. :-( Oh, well. Onto Torchwood & Doctor Who!! :-D

Drifting from a fandom always feels odd, doesn't it? It's been a little over two years since I started my gradual switch to Supernatural. Definitely makes you realize who are actually your friends, and who you just talked to because you liked the same show.

It is weird. Especially cos I was all OMG!QAF!! so hard, ya know? But times change, people change. And now I lust after David Tennant, John Barrowman and Gareth David-Lloyd. :-) LOL And now I have more room for DW icons in my user pics.

BTW - I'm thinking about re-editing Ever the Same. Since I lost the original in my computer crash and just making it a higher quality. Maybe seeing if some clips from seasons 9/10 could fit in somewhere. Would you be OK with that?

And I need more Jack/Daniel icons...

Re: re-editing - If you're gonna change around any clips, could you please let me know beforehand? There are some parts I really love as is and I'd prefer not to see them change (though they're probably things you would keep the same anyway).


I wish I could find free DVD ripping software that would work for me...there's a vid I've been dying to make for years.

I was able to "download" it in flash format from Google video. I'm not 100% sure about really changing anything, but there was some good stuff (ie Shroud) that we might be able to fit in somewhere. But, yeah, I'll definitely let you know if I really do change anything. :-)

Anyway, I just watched it again. LOL I mostly just want to tighten up some of the clips, get the timing a little better with the actual song. And these are the bits that have always niggled me a little bit. If you have any suggestions or want to leave them as they are, that's cool.

Free like water - the edit is just awkward on this. But I can't think of any watery clips. Maybe something from Watergate? But they weren't really together much there...

Both been shaken - again, just an awkward edit. We might be able to use the same clip but get the editing better.

2nd "Just let me hold you" etc (Serpent's Grasp) - The clip is LONG. I like the use of the clip here, but I think it needs to be split with something else?

Carry all your weight - Again, I like using The Light here, but it's a REALLY LONG sequence. Any thoughts?

I kinda wish there had been something better to use for "we were drawn from the weeds" - I kinda feel like maybe the first clip really needs to have both J&D visible in it.

I agree re: free like water, but I can't think of anything that would work in its place. It definitely needs to be Daniel after Jack's "we would stand in the wind" Maybe we could go metaphorical here? *ponders*

Also agree on "both been shaken" - I like the *idea* of the clip, but the execution could be better. I'm trying to think of a clip where they'd both be kinda upset, but I can't think of anything at the moment.

OH YES. I'm thinking it would probably work if "just let me hold you" was the same, switch to a new clip for "while you're falling apart", back to the hand on the face for "just let me hold you" and bring in a new clip right at the beginning of "we'll both fall down"
The best I can think of right not for "falling apart" would be either Abyss or Meridian, but we used a bunch of those already (quintessential J/D eps, y/y? lol)

Carry all your weight - I think maybe for that line, move to the quick shot from Evolution pt 2 where Jack's holding Daniel up b/c of his leg, then switch up to The Light for "you're no burden"? Or the other way around. The Evolution clip's already near the end, but moving it would free up a few beats for a new S9/10 clip


Sorry I'm not of much help. I haven't watched SG1 in forever and don't have the scene recall I used to. :(

Yeah, I get that. I like that clip though, but it would be better if J/D were in it. Sadly, that's a S6 clip, so um, no Daniel... LOL I'll have to see what I can find...

oh i feel exactly the same. it's like i'm onto everything but queer as folk, which is a bit sad, cause i have two qaf fics sitting in documents just waiting to be completed.
sometimes i'm like =[, but then i get all =] when i think of bandom and everything else i love.
