Atlantis is cancelled. As much as I was becoming disenchanted with the show, I'm still sad that all those wonderful actors won't be on my TV every week. :-(
McShep, like Kirk/Spock, will live on in fandom for many years, I'm sure. I'm glad to see SGA canceled because it feels like vindication; the show has slowly gotten worse and worse, and I've feel like the kid who doesn't see the emperor's clothes saying so.
This is the best news I've had in a while; it's the first thing that's made me wanna go back into the fandom for awhile.
I am really torn between giggling with glee and being all sad and mopey. I kinda wanna yell "Take that Joe!! See what you did? You got the show canceled after only 5 years! Hah! :-P" And really, the only reason I've been keeping up with the show is the actors. Sometimes the characters, but mostly the actors.
I can't really say I'm surprised it has been canceled. I do know what you mean about still feeling sad. Even though it hasn't really maintained my interest, it has at least always been there.
I suppose on the bright side, Canadian Actor Bingo will ensure we see these actors again somewhere, somehow. Even if it has to be con appearances for a while. ;-)
Tee hee. It does feel that way sometimes. Every time I go to the movies, I'm like, OK, which Stargate actor will I see now? And I swear Ryan Robbins has been in everything filmed in Vancouver EVER. That man pops up everywhere!!
I actually still enjoyed Atlantis, even moreso then I did when it first aired. I feel that the change in leadership actors may have been part of the problem, but that had to do with a lot of backstage stuff that couldn't be helped from what I understand it. I am pretty sad about it though. Wasn't it right before the Chicago con two years ago that they canceled SG-1? Srsly, what is it about August where we get all the sad news. :-(
I am sad that actors like David and Rachel, who just had kids, are now essentially out of a job. That truly blows.
Oh yes I know well how you feel about Joe. And to be fair I only really care about the actors, the writers and stuff it sounds like will be busy with SGU, which I know a lot of folks think is being foisted on us at the expense of SGA's cancellation, not sure how much credence I put in that. But at any rate, you're right about seeing them again. But Joe does have his brood at home.

I am mostly sad for the actors. And poor Joe with his brood at home. But I'm sure we'll see most of them again.
