Help from my Photoshop buddies

I need to make an oval that instead of a solid line, is a dotted line. Is that possible? If so, how?

Hi hun. Can point out what you want oval of?

Edit to say never mind I got what you want. Blame it on too early in the morning.

Be back with the answer.

Ok here goes the answer now that I am more awake and dealt with work crises.

1.Create new document.

2.Press F5 or Window > Brushes

3.Load square brushes. Choose 3 pix square brush.

4.To adjust spacing between the dots press the "brush tip shape" on top of your brush options/pallette. Move the spacing slider to about 160%

5.Go to your ellipse tool. Draw the oval shape.

6.Next step, Window > Paths. At the bottom of the path pallete choose the second button (Stroke path with brush). Then click on the 5th button (create new path).

Presto you've got your oval shape with the dotted line. :D

OK. I cannot do the Stroke path with brush thing. That option is grayed out. :-( Does it have anything to do with the mask on the layer?

Can you get to Window > Paths?

There should be nothing to do with layer mask.
