Anyone have any ideas on how to make fake brain matter?

I've decided to be a zombie hunter for Halloween. Thanks to or_mabinogi for that link the other day. Anyway, I have a t-shirt all bloodied up. And I got a hunk of 2x4 from my dad, too. It's got the fake blood on it, but I was thinking it would also be cool to have some chunk of fake brain on it. Any ideas?

chunks of dyed cauliflower. can be boiled until kinda soft...spray painted or colored somehow...then hot glued to the 2x4. gray matter that's ooyey gooey

If I didn't have to buy cauliflower, I would be all over that. :-)
