OK, so there's this fandom wank that's been going on pretty much since the season premiere with the whole Sam/Ruby are they/aren't they crap. And the implications that has on the body Ruby is possessing, etc etc.

Here's my thoughts on the subject. When we first meet Kristy in the beginning of 401 in Sam's room. She is acting very distinctly un-Ruby like. Even if she didn't want Dean to know who she really was, which she probably didn't. The interaction she has with Sam and her general demeanor suggests to me that Kristy is just Kristy at this point. There seems to be too much genuine reaction to each other for it to all be an act between them. Especially that bit at the end where Sam gets her name wrong. So I would like to posit that Sam and Kristy met earlier that day, they did that thing young folks do and off Kristy goes. Ruby then comes into the picture later on.

The only possible wrench in that line of thinking is then at the end of the episode at the diner, Sam immediately calls her Ruby and it's insinuated that they've been doing this demon killing thing for awhile. So, either Ruby switched bodies into Kristy or I'm just completely wrong and that is Ruby in the motel at the beginning.

On the other hand, there just seems to be such a HUGE personality shift in Kristy/Ruby from the beginning to the end for it to really be Ruby that whole time. Am I making any sense? Or just completely whacked?

The way I kinda explain it is that Sam and Ruby had the "random hook-up" scenario planned out way ahead of time in case Bobby showed up, and that Ruby actually trying to act out that excuse while Sam just comes off as awkward because all he's thinking is "OMG DEAN".

I don't think Ruby and Sam are fucking, purely because Kripke likes fucking with us. And even if TPTB were going to go there, I really hope fandom's reaction and pointing out the consent issues would have made them realize it's not a good idea. :-/

I think this is a hard one to think things through. Especially is RS said that it is indeed Ruby and not Kristy. If it is Ruby then there are serious implications. We also have to consider about the the situation that everyone was left in and had to face before Dean was brought back by Castiel. I know the answer might not an easy one for people to hear but then this show has never taken the easy way out.

No, they haven't. I just hope we get some sort of resolution on this soon. Cos this just all needs to be over.
