Even if you don't get the whole "twitter thing" you totally should be reading his blog. And his books. I am halfway through Just a Geek and I am already mentally writing my review of it to post on LJ when I finish. I totally need Wheaton icon's to. Also I would have given my left arm to have been in Phoenix at Comic Con last weekend. It looked like way to much of a good time.
Also Just a Geek got two thumbs up from the Ry. I plan on buying the others. I may allow you to borrow them if you wish so that you may bask in the awesomeness that is Will.
Seriously I know! Random people find me all the time on twitter. I just don't have as much time as I'd like to twitter. And I always have more to say than what can fit in the little box. *sigh*
the majority of people I am following on Twitter (and I've only been on for about a week) are celebrities. I'm following Rainn Wilson (who just joined 2 days ago), Wil Wheaton, Chris Hardwick, Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton, and tons more. But what I like about twitter is it feels like you are in a room with a bunch of friends just chatting, trading quips. Plus, I've always been into just sharing tidbits. I'm a really witty person, and I like how twitting allows me to be my witty self.
Also, twitter is just so open and inviting! I mean, yeah a bunch of people will start following you that end up being spammers, but it is amazing how many people decide to follow you out of the blue that are actually really cool! :)
Chris Hardwick? Like MTV Singled Out Chris Hardwick?
So, is twitter like a blog thing? Do you text to it? Cos I've seen twitter things here and there and it's usually just like one little sentence things and blurbs. It just confuses me...
Yes, that Chris Hardwick, who has a website called Nerdist - http://www.nerdist.com
It is totally like a blog thing. You can text to it, you can send your photos to it from your phone through a site called Twitpic, you can post through widgets on your computer or through apps on your phone. You can email your tweets to your LJ through a site called LoudTwitter. It's an amazing system, really, once you get exploring
Well I'm SAWRY. I should have known, since Erin is the girls spelling and Aaron is the boys. I just don't know enough Erin's for it to sink in yet. But good on ya having Stargate on your profile page over on twitter. :D
Apology accepted. :-) I'm used to it. Of course I have Stargate on my profile page. It may not be my most interested in fandom right now (I'm really in a Trekkie mood ATM) I still adore Stargate and it was my still my first shipping fandom. My first sci fi fandom was Red Dwarf. And don't even ask if I am excited about new RD. To say I'm ecstatic would be an understatement.
LOL yea my mom was watching that. I had homework. *grumbles* I saw Wesley though! He's always been my favorite too...used to write really lame Mary Sue TNG fanfics and everything. Oi me. But give a break I was 12. Anyway, I used to read Wil Wheaton's blog too, and I listened to some of the things he had links to on his website, with him talking about his books and reading some stuff from them. Pretty frelling funny. Gosh I haven't looked at that blog in forever. maybe I'll have to start reading again. Is it still good?
Yes Wil is still good. In fact he's gotten better. Not that I've been following his blog for a really long time or anything. I just know that from reading his book, which has older blog entries in it, I can tell he has gained in confidence in his writing style and it shows. Go, read, be entertained.
