TW Children of Earth: Day Two
Once again, AMAZING!!
First, to just get this out of the way,
NAKED JACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahem.
Now, moving.
I'm really liking this Lois person. I like that she's not just taking things at face value and asking questions.
I wonder if Torchwood will ever learn the truth about Rupesh. Would be interesting if they did.
OK, so Jack's regeneration. I was wondering how it would happen. Really kinda gross. But cool at the same time. I was quite surprised to actually see full frontal naked Jack. And burying him in CONCRETE? Holy fuck. Then when Ianto burst through with the forklift I started cheering! That was so awesome!!
What is up with that tank? Somehow I'm thinking it's not actually for the 456, but for them to use as a gas bomb whenever they're done with whatever they're coming here to do. Anyone else with me on that?
THEY'RE COMING TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I'm totally missing tomorrow's episode since I'll be at the Leverage Season 2 Premiere!!!

For a while I was thinking, yeah, Lois could work as maybe an information gatherer, but she's not showing any signs of being phenomenal with computers and it's not anything that the others can already do on their own. But then she showed up with all this info, maps, contacts, and a whole freaking plan to break into a military compound! Yes, I want to keep her. Now I fear that RTD is purposely making us like her so he can kill her off. He's evil that way.
I took issue with the concrete breaking apart so easily. And it was oh so convenient that it broke around him and didn't tear him to bits, again. But you do have to cheer him standing tall and ready, and nekkid.

I asked my husband, the concrete expert about this. For real. He's a structural engineer and works with concrete every day. Basically, it boils down to this: It is very, very easy to break concrete with a sheared force (hard vertical force). Anything contained within that concrete should survive mostly in tact. Since a human body is a rather gelatinous substance, it will flex quite easily when the block was dropped. A normal person would probably end up with broken bones. But this being the immortal Captain Jack Harkness he would recover when he came back to life.
So, there you have it. The physics of concrete as applied to Torchwood. :-D

NEKKID JACK. Good gawd almighty.
I was especially pleased when Gwen handed him the jacket, and he proceeded to casually throw it over his shoulder and stroll right over to the car in all of his unclad glory. =)
