What? I know I've missed quite a few episodes and I know some wierd crap happens in that show but is he for real dead or the dead where he's gonna come back?
Yes, I am in denial, would you like a Nile loyus flower from my travels?
Actually, Elle, brings up a point, what if there is a timey wimey aspect and things revert? As much as I hate resets...
Hmm, So soon after Tosh and Owen is a bad thing, but Ianto bringing it home. Only two seasons and Torchwood comes down to the ONE character tie to Doctor Who and the one character meant to be the "what is this all about" character. Not much left to go forward.
I've also been trying to ignore that gnawing feeling that something this universally HUGE should have called forth The Doctor.
I will admit that hoping the Doctor would show up and make everyone, including Ianto, all right.
I'm just a silly American who doesn't get to see this for another few weeks so PLEASE. Tell me that by tomorrow night he is going to up and kicking Jack's ass because somehow or another Jack HAD to be the reason this happened.
I was riveted by this 5-part ep! I hate hate hate that Ianto had to die - especially after Tosh and Owen.
Someone mentioned that it had to be Ianto who died instead of Gwen, because the show was all about children and Gwen was pregnant. But that to me just puts more emphasis on the tragedy of Ianto's death. I mean, we barely got to see any tender/romantic/sexy moments between Jack and Ianto, but on top of that there were the negative comments by Ianto's brother and by Clem about his sexuality, AND - unlike Gwen or Jack - Ianto will never have any kids of his own now. Maybe it would have felt different if he'd been close with his niece and nephew, but he wasn't - so it just really feels like there's not even a piece of him left in the world now.
I don't think this was a bad story, but it was certainly a tragic one, in many many ways.
I'm still not sure how I feel about it all, really. I just can't get it to make sense in my head. There had to be something else they could do besides killing Ianto that would still let them accomplish the same thing.
The odd thing is, apparently season 4 is like already written and ready to go. But, what the hell are they gonna do?!?!

They have to bring Ianto back, they just have to. Jack's declaration of "I'm taking it all back, you can't have him" just broke me completely.
