switch842: (SPN: Dean/Castiel)

OK, trying something new this week. Posting as the ep goes cos by the end I always forget what I want to say...

Rufus! Jo! Ellen!! Yay!!!!

Cas is using phones now. Awesome.

Ooooo. So Castiel's losing his mojo. Interesting....

OH SHIT. Cas is gonna find GOD?!?!? Holy fuck.... (if you'll pardon the pun)

No Dogma joke? Come on, Dean....

dkfljsh;dkfjghs;dfg CAS LOVES DEAN!!! It is canon! :-P

SHUT UP! SHUT THE FUCK UP. Dean's AMULET?!?!?! Is a God-o-meter? Holy crap.....

Awww. Even as pissed as Dean is with Sam, the amulet is still previous to him. And I was so thinking, "Man. Dean's gonna feel naked now."

"Spirit in the Sky." Awesome.

Ellen! Hi, Ellen. *waves* And she lays into Dean. As she should.

Oh, Dean. Sammy knows what you're up to.

Don't Sam. Don't do it. You don't need it.

Dean is impressed. Nice. "Where'd you serve?" "Hell."

Oooooooooo. See, the thing is. Sam could have is mojo back. He doesn't NEED the blood. Remember Sam? You can do it all on your own.

Oh shit! Jo's possessed. And Rufus! Fuuuuuuuuuck.

Dude. The demons think Sam is evil? What the hell are they doing??? Have the demons gone crazy??

OK, now Dean is thinking. Yes, a plan is good. You need to save your brother, but you need to be smart about it.

Oooo! It's a hallucination!! This is interesting.

Nice twist. The Four Horseman. Nice. I was wondering how long it would take them to show up. Nice to see Kripke doesn't hold out on us.

Ya know? War is kind of a cool guy. I like how he rolls. I mean, he's a son of a bitch. But he's got style. :-P

And here we go....

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Ellen!!!!!!!!!!

Dude! They cut off his finger! Nice!!

Lord of the Rings FTW! \O/

Ooooo. Sam doesn't trust himself? Damn........ Sam not hunting?? Shiiiiiiiit.

And Dean agrees. This is...shit, this sucks.

Dean offering his car. That's a step right there.

Dammit. Show made me cry again. :-(

OK. This thing with the demon blood is really starting to annoy me. SAM DOESN'T NEED IT. SERIOUSLY. REMEMBER?? WHY DOES SAM NOT REMEMBER WHAT RUBY SAID?? WHY DOES KRIPKE NOT REMEMBER, EITHER?!?!?!

PREVIEW:
JESS IS BACK?!?! So, Dean finds God. Sam find Lucifer. Next week looks interesting...

Titus Welliver is FUCKING AWESOME. That was a great piece of casting there.

I'm really annoyed about the demon blood thing, too. Bah, the inconsistency is driving me NUTS. Do we not remember that Sam had powers before it? Hello, Ava? Who honed her powers without sucking on any blood at all?

But I have to say that it's nice for Sam to realize, and for the show to verbally acknowledge, that Sam's issue isn't really the demon blood, but how driven and narrow-focused he can become. How far he's willing to go.

Thank you. Glad to know I'm not the only one getting annoyed by this. I mean, Sam hasn't told anyone what Ruby said it's no surprise he's still cracking jokes about it. Maybe once he goes away and gets his head on straight it'll resolve itself. Or something....

Cos the thing is, I do think Sam can use his power for good. I mean, being able to kill demons and save the person they're possessing? That's awesome! Hell, I'd do it if I could. Who wouldn't?

That's contingent on them being able to think beyond black and white, in-show and by Kripke et al. Remember when they were heading in that direction? With the vampires who don't drink human blood, and the revelation that demons were once human? But it's like they wiped that clean or something, and suddenly there's no in-between.

Oh, and I wish they hadn't glossed over the fact that Sam knived two teenagers to death. Okay, I guess that's pretty low in the grand scheme of things, what with Sam having started the apocalypse, but c'mon.

There really hasn't been too much that I felt they've glossed over that had a HUGE impact on the overall mythology of the show. The demons used to be humans thing, I don't really feel needed too much more exploration. I mean, they're people that went to hell and were "deformed" by it. But I don't think that really lessens the evil they are now doing, ya know? THIS however, with the demon blood was a HUGE revelation and totally changes pretty much everything that happened in season four.

I think the whole "they weren't really demons and we were killing innocent people" discussion may have fallen into a time-crunch edit. I like to think it was there and everyone discussed it. But, really, there's not much they can do about it at this point other than feel like shit about it. *shrug*

I don't need them to talk about it too much. More like, I want the feeling that it's all heading somewhere. It's like we've been given these little bits and pieces of something thematic, but I never really feel like it's going anywhere. Sam being one of the special children, "blessed" with Azazel's blood, the visions, the TK, the stuff about Dean having to face the fact that some supernatural creatures aren't evil, sometimes the worse monster is humans. I'm probably not explaining myself very well, but just, yeah, that feeling like there's been pieces, and I want them to form a cohesive whole, but I don't ever really get the feeling like Kripke really knows what he's doing. But that's a whole another giant can of worms, ha.

I think we will eventually see the big picture. It seems like Kripke likes to leave bread crumbs and then at the end is the big reveal and "Ah ha!" moment. I'm sure before season/series end we'll know everything.
