Jensen’s mama was driving him crazy. He didn’t remember her getting this wild with Josh or even Mackenzie’s wedding. And Mac was her baby! Yes, the wedding was five days away, but everything was set!

"Mama!" he finally exploded.

"What, dear?" she asked politely.

"Would you please stop it? Everything is under control. The flowers are ordered, the food is being cooked, the cake is being baked. I promise, everything is taken care of."

"Oh, Jensen," she said reaching up to cup his cheek. "I know. I just want everything to be perfect. This day has been a long time coming. You know, there was a time when I thought you would never get married."

"I know, mama. But everything will be perfect. I promise."

"All right, sweetie. Now, have you gotten everyone’s flight information?"

Jensen just put his head down on the table and listened as his mother rambled on. Saturday couldn’t come soon enough.

Several long hours later, Jensen managed to escape his mother. He hid in his room and immediately picked up the phone, dialing a number he knew by heart.

"Your mama driving you crazy, Jen?"

"Oh, Dan," Jensen sighed. "You have no idea."

"Aw, poor baby," Danneel laughed. "It must be so terrible having a mother who cares so much."

"Bite me."

"Would if I could, babe."

Jensen just sighed in response.

"Is it really that bad?" she asked seriously.

"No, it’s just.... It’s like she doesn’t trust me to get it right. It’s my wedding, I know what I’m doing. I mean, I’m 34 years old. I think I know how to order flowers and food by now."

"You know it’s not that, sweetie. You’re the last one to get married. She just wants to make sure it’s perfect."

"I know. And I love her for it, really. I just wish it was here already. Get it over and done with and back to normal life."

"But then it will be here and the day will go by so fast that it will all be over before you know it. And then you’ll be thankful for all the work that’s going into it now so you’ll have nothing to worry about when it gets here."

"I guess you’re right." Jensen paused, unsure how to continue. "You know, Dan," he said softly, "I did think that once..."

"I know," she interrupted. "I know. I did, too. But, well, that’s not how it was meant to be was it?"

"I guess not," he replied. "You are happy, though, right? With Riley?"

"Yes, Jensen," she said and he could hear the smile in her voice. "We’re very happy."

"And how’s Jacob doing?"

"He’s doing so well. Getting bigger every day. You should come by next time you’re in LA."

"Yeah, I think I’ll do that. Jay and I should be coming through sometime after the honeymoon."

"Oh, don’t let me interrupt that!" she laughed. "Take your time. We’ll be here."

"All right," Jensen said lightly. "I’ll give you a call, yeah?"

"Yeah. You do that."

"Listen, I just…thanks, Danni. I know this could have been awkward, but, I’m glad I can still call you."

"Me, too. Good luck on Saturday. I’m sure it will be beautiful."

"Thanks. Good night."

"Good night."

Jensen hung up, feeling better about everything. But still just as anxious for Saturday to arrive.

~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~

Friday arrived with usual Vancouver weather, rain.

Damn it, Jensen thought. Jared’s flight better not be delayed.

They were cutting it close as it was. The rehearsal was scheduled to begin at 5:00 and, while Jared’s plane was supposed to be landing at 10:30, there was still a five hour drive to the location. He was flying in from Los Angeles and there was a high chance his flight would be delayed. Stupid last minute reshoots.

But Jensen wasn’t complaining. Jared’s career had taken off after the end of Supernatural and Jensen couldn’t be prouder. He was well on his way to becoming one of the top leading men in Hollywood. Jensen’s own career had taken a slightly quieter path, but one that was he was very happy and satisfied with. He had his choice of independent projects and had done quite a bit of stage work. He stayed (mostly) out of the paparazzi’s radar and that was just fine with him. There were days when he didn’t know how Jared dealt with it all. And when the wedding news broke? It was a free for all. It made Jensen very happy that had decided to keep their home base in Vancouver.

But back to the rehearsal. Jensen allowed his mom to pick him up at eight that morning and run him around on some last minute errands. It did help him keep his mind off things.

All too soon, it was 10:30. And no Jared. 10:45 and no Jared. 10:56 and no Jared. 11:04 and no Jared. Finally at 11:23, Jensen’s phone rang.

"Hello?" he answered.

"Hey," Jared replied sounding breathless. "Sorry, I just got off the plane. We landed on time, but they didn’t get us into a gate until five minutes ago. I was about five seconds away from a Hollywood diva blow-out."

"Well, you’re here now," Jensen said.

"Yes, yes I am. I’m just going to grab my bag and head straight for the resort. Can you bring my suit there?"

"Not a problem. I’ll see you soon."

"See you soon. Love you," Jared said hanging up.

"Love you, too," Jensen said to dead air. Oh, well, he laughed to himself. At least Jay had made it. He finished getting himself ready then grabbed Jared’s gray suit from their closet. He loaded everything in the car and started making his way to the site.

Jensen arrived at the SeaScape Resort and checked into their room for the weekend. He had both their suits for tomorrow and extra bags for the honeymoon to Europe. He unzipped one of the garment bags and looked at what would be his wedding suit. They had decided to keep it simple, black Armani for both of them with silver ties. He couldn’t wait to see Jared in his. He didn’t wear suits often, but when he did, he took Jensen’s breath away. His tall, lean frame was just made for a well tailored suit. He was so distracted by thoughts of what tomorrow would bring that he didn’t hear Jared arrive. He almost jumped out of his skin when he felt strong arms slide around his waist.

"You ready for this?" Jared asked.

"Yes," Jensen said turning in his arms. "Definitely."

Jared kissed him softly and Jensen let out a sigh of contentment.

"Hi," Jared said pulling back.

"Hi," Jensen replied with a smile. "I’m glad you made it."

"Me, too. Let me get changed and we’ll get this show on the road."

"Sounds good to me."

The rehearsal had gone off without a hitch and dinner was absolutely delicious. The evening had been perfect and the two men were back in their room for the night. Suddenly, Jensen was nervous.

"So," Jared said.

"So..."

They laughed at the tension that hung in the air.

"Come here," Jared said holding out his hand. Jensen went easily, falling into Jared’s warm embrace. They stood for a moment just holding each other close. "You okay?" Jared asked quietly.

"Yeah. Just nervous for some reason."

"It is a big thing happening tomorrow. It’s okay to be nervous, Jen."

"I know. I just want everything to be perfect. It’s our wedding, Jay."

"It will be. We’re getting married. Can’t nothing get in the way of that."

"This is true. Now, sad as I am to say this, can we just go to sleep?"

"Sure. It’s been a long day. And tomorrow is our wedding day. And then our wedding night," Jared said wriggling his eyebrows. "You’ll definitely need to be rested up for that."

"And so will you," Jensen laughed. "But for now, we sleep."

Saturday dawn bright and clear, miraculously. Jensen woke to the feeling of kisses on his shoulder. He smiled at the thought that he would have that every day for the rest of his life now. Well, every day that they were in the same city, at least. He chuckled at that thought.

"What’s so funny?" Jared asked.

"Nothing," Jensen said turning over. "Just thinking that this will be a lovely thing to wake up to. Whenever we happen to be in the same city."

Jared snickered at that. "Yeah, that will be nice. Not that we haven’t been doing that for the past two years already..."

"Oh, stop it. You know what I mean."

"Yes, I do. So, you ready?"

"Yeah. Let’s go get married!"

~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~

At two o’clock that afternoon, Jensen was standing in the waiting room down by the pier. The ceremony was due to start in half an hour and Jensen couldn’t believe how nervous he was. He was pacing back and forth, dangerously close to wearing a hole in the floor boards when the door opened and his brother walked in.

"Hey, Jensen."

"Hey, Josh," Jensen mumbled.

"You doing okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I’m fine."

"Now why don’t I believe you?" Josh laughed.

"I don’t know why I’m so nervous. I want to marry Jared. I want to be here. So, why do I feel like I’m going to puke?"

"It’s a big step. Come on, you saw how nervous I was on my wedding day and I’m just as stupidly in love with my wife as you are with Jared. Everyone gets nervous. I’m sure Jared’s feeling the same as you are. You’ll be fine."

"Thank you," Jensen said hugging his brother. "For everything. For being here. I know it hasn’t been easy for you."

"Hey. Come on. No way I’d miss my baby brother getting hitched. Now, I’ll see you down at the altar. Your husband awaits!"

Jensen laughed and felt better. He could do this. He was marrying Jared. Everything would be fine.

~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~

There had been quite the discussion about who would walk down the aisle and who would be waiting at the altar. In the end, they had resorted to a good old fashioned coin toss to settle the debate. Jensen lost, so it was him that took his mother’s arm and made his way towards Jared. He looked up as they reached the beginning of the aisle, locking eyes with Jared, a huge grin breaking out on his face. Jared returned the grin and Jensen let out a laugh as he felt the surge of happiness bubble up inside him. He glanced around as he saw their brothers and sisters at the altar, waiting to support them. The nervousness was all gone and all that was left was Jared. That’s all that mattered anyway.

All too soon it felt like they reached the end of the aisle. Jensen turned and kissed his mama on the cheek, shook his daddy’s hand and joined Jared up on the dais in front of all their friends and family.

"Hi," he said as he and Jared joined hands.

"Hi," Jared replied, a huge grin splitting his face.

"Welcome, family and friends," the minister began. "We have gathered here today to witness as Jared and Jensen commit themselves to each other in the bonds of matrimony. Jared and Jensen have each prepared a few words they would like to share in addition to the traditional vows. Jared?"

Jared paused as he reached into his jacket to take out the speech he had prepared. "Jensen," he began. "It would be silly and cliché of me to say that I fell in love with you the moment we met. But that wouldn’t make it any less true. And even though it took us seven years to get here, I wouldn’t trade that time for anything in the world. You became my best friend, my confidant. You make me smile and you make me laugh. You challenge me in ways I never knew. And I have become a better man for knowing and loving you. I can’t wait to see where the future takes us."

Jensen blinked back tears as Jared finished his speech. He was so moved he wasn’t sure he could speak without his voice cracking. Jared just smiled and urged Jensen to go.

"God, I am such a girl," he said wiping at his eyes.

Jared and the audience chuckled. "Why do you think I agreed to marry you, Jenny-bean?"

"Shut up."

"Jensen?" the minister prompted. "Whenever you’re ready."

"Right," Jensen said clearing his throat. He had a speech prepared, but decided not to use it. He needed to speak from the heart and tell Jared how he really felt. "Jared, if someone had told me 10 years ago that I would be standing here with another man, I probably would have laughed in their face. But here and now, I can’t imagine anyone I’d rather be here with than you. Falling in love with you was so easy that I didn’t even realize it had happened until I was too deep to get out. You are kind and caring. You make me laugh every day. Even when we’re apart, one phone call is all it takes and I’ll be smiling for days. I am so honored that you have chosen to love me and agreed to be my husband. I love you and I can’t wait for our future to start."

"Now who’s the girl?" Jared said as he wiped his own eyes.

"Jared, if you would repeat after me?” the minister began. “I, Jared, take you, Jensen, to be my husband..."

"I, Jared, take you, Jensen, to be my husband. To have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; to love and cherish always," Jared finished. He took the ring from his brother Jeff and reverently placed it on Jensen’s finger.

"Jensen, please repeat after me..."

"I, Jensen, take you, Jared, to be my husband. To have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; to love and cherish always." Jensen took the ring from Josh and gently placed it on Jared’s finger.

"It is my pleasure to announce that Jared and Jensen are now married!" the minister said gleefully. "You may kiss your husband."

The two leaned in and sealed their vows in front of a cheering audience of family and friends. They were married. And Jensen couldn’t stop smiling.

~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~

Jensen looked over and smiled as he saw Jared laughing with Mackenzie at what was most likely some really embarrassing story from Jensen’s past. Siblings. He was about to walk over and join them when the sound of glass clinking caught his attention.

"Excuse me, everyone!" he heard Josh yell over the crowd. "If you could take your seats please dinner is about to be served. But first, a few words."

There was a pause as their family and friends found their seats in the restaurant. Josh looked nervous as he stood in front of everyone, waiting to make his toast as best man.

"When Jensen first told me he had fallen in love with Jared, I’ll admit I didn’t really understand. He had always been such a ladies’ man that it was hard to reconcile this with the brother I knew growing up. And then I started to spend time with the two of them. And I understood. Jared is kind and funny and silly. He has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met. But most importantly, he makes Jensen happy. That’s all a big brother can ask for, really. Someone to make his family happy. So, Jared," he said raising his glass, "thank you for making Jensen happy. And if he ever tells me one day that he’s not happy, well, you’ll have me to answer to."

The crowd laughed as everyone raised their glasses in celebration.

"To Jared and Jensen!"
