What the hell happened to the Gateworld forum? This is an "upgrade"? It looks like complete crap and nothing is easy to find. The "Go to first post" link DOESN'T. Dude. Go back. Please. It's horrible.

Hideous isn't it?......seems to have regressed back to when fan forums were first started up......I remember the old "Invision" sites.....and that bloody tag system on a forum?...Why?.....put up mainly so that the name with the most tags is in bigger and bolder letters than anyone else!....and that wasn't difficult to work out who that would be on GW!!....*snark*...


Still at least you can shrink and hide that one....

I didn't even see the tag thing. I was too busy trying to find where all my subscribed threads went. This "improvement" really isn't. Ugh.

You can hide the whole panel down the right hand side if you click on the arrow pointing to the right....

It really does remind me of a very amateur first attempt at making a website and forum from back in the old days....

I wonder why they went from looking very smart and professional to so very generic and forumulaic fan site?....

My understanding is there was no choice but to upgrade from vBulletin v3 to v4 (as 3 would no longer be supported). The downside is Darren had made so many customisations to v3 that they're gonna take a while to get sorted on the new template.

I knew it was gonna change, but it was a bit of a shock HOW different! There is much I don't like, but I figure Darren and Greg need a few days to knock it back into shape.... I hope....

It's just so...bubbly. If that makes sense. Before it was all kind of nice and square and streamlined. Maybe I'll get used to it. Hope I do, anyway. I'd hate to have to leave the place just because the layout changed! lol
