How do you credit wallpapers? Seriously? I've seen quite a few posts recently that are just wallpapers and they all have some sort of "Snag, but credit!" statement. It's going on my personal computer desktop. You can't credit that, as far as I'm aware. I mean, what? Am I supposed to put a note in every online profile I have whenever I change my desktop that I'm now using one by you? How does that even make sense?

I think it's more for public usage, like if you are using it on LJ, on your ser info page you'd put who made it.

But they're too big to use anywhere on LJ. Unless people are in the habit of using 1024x768 sized graphics on a regular basis here.... *shrugs*

That's always confused me, too. My only explanation is that sometimes people really do use wallpapers as their LJ backgrounds, so maybe it's that. IDK.

That's really the only explanation I possibly have for "credit meeeeeee" when it comes to stuff like wallpapers. Because, yeah, how do you credit personal use? *shrug*

I sometimes post icons and wallpapers together so normally that's what I'm referring to. Also in the same vein...I type "comment, credit, snag" outta habit...so that might be the same on other people. *shrugs* I've had people use icons I've made and not credit...so yeah. I don't expect people to credit if they use on their own computers, but if they use elsewhere or as story starters (which I've had) or they were made for someone in particular (since I make them for presents sometimes), I like credit.

Does that make sense? Or was that a whole lot of rambling?

I get that when it's a multimedia graphics post. But the last couple I've seen have been posts with ONLY wallpapers. That's what I'm all *headscratch* about....
