I just got back from spending the day with my mom. Grandma didn't want a funeral, so we won't be having any services. We went to the funeral home to say good bye. And that was hard. And a little weird. It's only the second dead body I've been around. She so did not look like herself at all. We're probably going to have a small private memorial the weekend after Easter when my one brother is coming home. We're the only family she had around here (mom was an only child), so it won't be much. But it's what she wanted and that's the important thing.

Thanks again. ((HUGS))

It's a lot to take in. Family is helpful. Relish in the company you have. *hugs*

No problem, hon. I know how that is. My grandma (mom's mom) died in 2000 and I thought I was going to be okay at the wake. As soon as I saw her there I burst into tears. It was so hard.

((extra hugs))

I've been around a dead body as an adult, but I vividly remember my own fathers funeral when I was 12 and my step-fathers when I was 13. Both times it didn't hit me until afterwards. I'm here for you.
