I cannot get Chrome to display thumbnail images at all. My post with the lovely pic of JDM that I made yesterday? Can't see the thumbnail at all. Not even a broken link thing. Nothing. It's like there's no image even posted. I've looked through the Chrome forum for help, but I'm not finding anything that works. There was a reference to updating Java to a version specific for Chrome. I did that. Restarted Chrome. Still nothing. Everything works fine in Firefox, so it's definitely an issue with this browser. I'm really starting to like, so I'd like to keep using it. But this is a HUGE issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Since I've been using Chrome I didn't even know there was supposed to be a thumbnail there. Didn't see it. Didn't know there was an issue. I do see it in Firefox. The only issue I've really noticed was a slight alteration in CSS translation. Enough to be noticeable, but not enough to want to rewrite my CSS. I wonder why the thumbnail doesn't show up. Hmmm, I wonder if those two issues are actually related....

Hmm. I never even considered it had something to do with my CSS. Everything seems to be working just fine. And I have no idea where to even start looking to see if the problem is there. Would you mind maybe taking a look? You can see the code here (http://community.livejournal.com/thrashmetal/39488.html). :-D

Oh, I only meant that it could be an issue with the way Chrome renders CSS, regardless of what normal coding practices require. It's usually the main difference between browsers, the way they interpret the code. If that is the case, it's likely nothing you can do about it.

...

Just checked and the CSS (for my own LJ layout) renders somewhat oddly in Chrome, Opera, and Safari. It only seems to look right in Firefox. (FWIW, the benchmark I'm using is where the userpics fall in the sidebar. They're off center in everything except Firefox.) As far as the thumbnail you posted, I could see it in Firefox and Opera, but not in Chrome or Safari. I'm going to have to chalk this oddity up to the way the browser renders code. This is why I try to stick to standard code, but unfortunately, not all browsers even bother to stick to w3 standardization. (They'd all be the same if they did, I suppose.)

Did you use the LJ insert image function? I've only recently been using that but most of the time I alter what gets pasted so that it matches my personal preference. Also, my inserts usually end up behind a cut instead of as a teaser like LJ meant them to be. I wonder if that makes a difference because I don't recall having any problems.

Ah, OK. I have noticed a couple oddities with how some posts look in Chrome. Like, if all I post in reply is :-) It's indented like half way into the entry field. Everything else reads fine.

I used the normal html thumbnail code to post. That's what has me so o_O about it. I'm not using any weird coding. Just this:
[a href="LINK"][img width="%" src="LINK" height="%"][/a] (with < instead of [).

And I thought maybe it was an issue with Scrapbook since some images seem to load slower. So I tried using a thumbnail with a different host and I got the same problem.

This is very strange....
