Really random question

I've always wondered this:

How often do you actually visit your friends' LJ pages? All the time? Only when you comment? Only when following up on something? I just noticed that most of the communities I watch, I have no idea what their pages actually look like. And so most of the time am completely surprised or shocked at what they look like. Sometimes I think I should visit actual pages more often. Other times, meh. I have my flist and it lets me look at my pretty, pretty layout. :-D

I only look at my friends' pages if I'm commenting, looking for something specific, or they say, "hey, new layout!"

That's generally what I do.

I usually go check when a) they mention they get a new layout or b) when I'm looking for a new layout haha

really, not that often. I use the inbox the LJ gives me to keep an eye on people.

I like my own layout, because I can actually read the text and that's the main reason I'm on LJ. The only time I ever visit someone's LJ (and take off my setting to see only my own style) is if someone says, "Hey, I have a new layout. Come see!" hehe And even then, I often don't anymore, because usually it's a fandom theme that I don't have an interest in seeing or something along those lines.

I love my own LJ layout, because it suits me and it's exactly how I want it to be. Sometimes I'd love to change and have something prettier, but then I think...meh. The way it is now, I can read it, and that's really what's most important. It would be a pain to change it and then end up having to change back, which is what usually happens. :-)

I almost never go to a community page unless it's to join the community--usually then I mostly look just at the profile page anyway. This has bit me in the butt a few times as some communities have those posts that are stuck at the beginning with rules or info. I never see those posts, because when I look at the whole community in my own style, those posts are not at the top.

I've got my flist to read the posts
and visit the page when I comment or when the wanna show a new header/ layout.
so I do pretty much what everybody else does :D

I generally click through when I'm reading or holding to read later...or if I need to comment...I'd actually never thought about it...but when I glanced at my tabs this morning...most of them were actually on other people's pages. Surprisingly cuz I didn't think I clicked through.

Does that help?

Sometimes it annoys me because some people's layouts hurt my eyes and I kinda make a note of those mentally and only click through if I need to leave a comment.

I'm pretty much the same as everyone else. I visit my friend's journals only when commenting, checking out new layouts, or when looking for something specific (like an older entry from them).

It is a little shocking sometimes when you visit a page directly. Especially if they changed their layout and never said anything. :D (Something I tend to do :P )

I read them a lot even when I don't comment.

there are a couple I visit, otherwise, only when commenting but I do maintain their layout, I think layouts tell me about them.

Good question! Most of them I don't go directly since I view/comment from my friends page. But every couple of months I'll click each friend to check out their layout, etc. I find it to be interesting. :)
