I go back to work after my maternity leave on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it and not at the same time. I'm only going back part time (8-12 and only 2 days in the office). Hubby will be home with the baby the first week I go back since I'll be in the office every day.

A few weeks back I had gone in to meet with my manager to discuss what hubby and I would like in terms of my work schedule and all that. Right now (being the operative words), they're fine with the part time. The girl who came in to cover my leave has actually been hired on full time and they are looking to hire an additional person for the summer. However, with the way the industry (mortgage default) is changing and the tasks our little two person department is being assigned, they are eventually going to need someone who can be full time. Which is most likely not going to be me. We're good through the end of August, so there's some time. And if hubby gets the raise he's expecting (and should get) in July, we would actually be OK with me being a full time stay at home mom. Which is what we would like to do. But this kind of does all hinge on the raise coming through. His company has had a very good year (finally) and has made more in the first two quarters than all last year. So, there really isn't any reason he shouldn't get the raise. Plus he's gotten all the professional certifications he can, so he's quite a valuable employee right now. I just hope they see that.

So, if everything does work out and I become a stay at home mom, I'm a little torn, actually. I really like the people I work with (on a direct basis at least) and have made some really good friends there. I will miss them for sure. And I am a little worried about going stir crazy or something with not having anything specific to do every day. I'm hoping by that time that Gabriel will be old enough to perhaps start some Mommy and Me classes at local park districts or something. Plus my parents are close and come to visit often.

So, yeah. That's my rambling. Not sure what the point was other than to get it all out somewhere....
