SG Con Round Up

Secondly: The gallery links are just to the general gallery I have. I haven't edited any of the pics I took. They're OK. I just had my little pocket point & shoot with me, but I was in row C, so they're not so bad. Well, most of them. Some are little meh. But, there you go.
Friday (Gallery)
Steve was up first. He was drunk. Which seems pretty standard for him. LOL But still, amusing and personable. Dan Shea crashed his panel and it soon devolved into porn jokes and silly boy-ness. The porn jokes included references to corn, cucumbers and sheep. On the part of both of them. I laughed. It was definitely a light-hearted start to the weekend.
Dan was up next. He was his usual crazy psycho randomness. PSYCH SPOILER!!! He doubled for Cary Elwes the other day. Crazy diamond thief is back! Yay!!
Andee & Chris were awesome. I had seen Andee in Vancouver a few years ago, but had never seen Chris. Andee basically has no brain-mouth filter and just keeps talking.... But in a good way! LOL I wasn't sure what to expect from Chris, but he was AWESOME! Much more outgoing than I had anticipated, I think. He kept hopping off the stage to run over to the person asking the question since the mike's SUCK and you basically have to eat the thing to get people to be able to hear you. So, he was helping out. Which meant when he was over by me I went all as;dojfpsodiurg and my question came out like crap. Well, my question to Andee was fine, my question to Chris got all as;dojfpsodiurg. My questions were about their respective roles on Supernatural. Andee played the crazy dead nurse in Fulsom Prison Blues. I was curious about the audition process as the part had no speaking lines and was all like groaning and stuff. Well, apparently she went in to audition for another part (a policewoman) and they were all, "Hey! Do you wanna do this instead?" And she said "Sure!" Cos it was a job! :-) My question to Chris basically came down to "What was up with Alistair's voice?" Like, I wanted to know why he picked up on that as, to me, a voice is something that sticks with a body and not necessarily the demon. He said he watched what the other actor had done (whose name I am blanking on...) and liked it a lot, so he decided to bring that in as part of the demon quality, not just the host. And TPTB liked it, so he kept it up. Something like that, anyway.... LOL
Robert was fantastic. Very funny and engaging. He was very good at answering questions fully, with a bit of a story and not just 2 word answers. He also has an AMAZING singing voice. As fans of Voyager know. :-) We were also briefly introduced to his "cousin", Alphonso, who was to be appearing at the cabaret later. He is really quite something.... *swoon* Oh! Also at one point in his talk, he removed the jacket he was wearing and some people did the "Woohoo!" thing. He seemed quite amused by that. Hehe.
Cabaret
The cabaret started with Dan doing more of his hyper golden retriever on speed schtick.
Then Andee came out and told some bad dating stories. Not that the stories were bad. The dates were bad. The stories were quite funny. Two were from other friends, one was hers. But I can't remember hers for some reason. The other stories both involved poo in some form. Poo is funny, I guess.
Then came the highlight of the evening - Alphonso. *Swoon* He is God's sexual gift to women. So sexy. So suave. LOL Erin, of course (love you!), had to get in on it and grabbed![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
squigglysarah and asked Alphonso for advise as to how they could better demonstrate their love for each other (or something like that). I was doubled over laughing so hard. Because, he is so sexually amazing he can turn lesbians, you know. It sounds silly, I know, but you have to see it to understand it. I wish there was something on youtube I could point you to, but there is not. :-(
After the cabaret was karaoke. Most of us were planning on heading over to the bar for that, except.....it wasn't in the bar... :-| Yeah, they set it up in the main auditorium. Um, awkward! We were gonna skip it, but decided to stop in and see how embarrassing it was. It was a little weird, but then we showed up and it got AWESOME! LOL Robert was hosting and sang a few numbers. I somehow managed to get up there. Luckily it was at the end of the night and most people had left. Including Robert, Andee and Chris who had been in the audience. Erin and I did get a pic with Chris. It was nice. :-) There's something about him in person.... Don't know what it is, but he's pretty scrumptious. ;-)
Saturday (Gallery)
At last!! The day had arrived!! Flanigan, Hewlett and Shanks!!! :-D
First off, the sad news - my video did not win. :-( Probably because Joe & David did a combo panel and I set a McKay exclusive vid in. That will be going up in a separate post later.
I missed some of Joe & David's talk as that's when hubby came by to drop off Gabe. Also why I don't have many pics or remember much of the talk. LOL I do remember it started off with someone giving Joe a trophy for winning Twitter Actor Of The Month and David a runner-up. It then became something of a running gag during the rest of the panel since David introduced Joe to Twitter less than a month ago and he's already storming up the charts. It was pretty funny. Oh!! JOE DID A MOVIE WITH CHRISTIAN KANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aSLekhfa;skdjgh;pgdi Most of the audience went all WOOHOO! with that news. But David was like "Who?" :-P Stupid David. LOL And David is apparently in his monkey movie phase. He's got that evil snow monkey thing and Rise of the Apes coming out. More mocking was done with that. But, it's really great to get to see them together. You can tell they are really good friends. :-)
And then it was time for.... THE SHANKS! LOL :-) He was awesome as always. Wearing the lovely and super soft off-white henley and the "con jeans". Erin and I harassed him about Sumuru. We had to do something. But then I asked seriously about Red Riding Hood. Unfortunately, he couldn't say much since there are confidentiality agreements and everything. But the cast is great and been fun to work with. Lexa was so happy when he got snapped by the paparazzi that one time. LOL
So, I think that's all for now. There will be a special post tomorrow that's going to be super locked. So, sorry random people stopping by. :-)

Thanks for the report.....wish I'd been able to go, but not possible this year and after the reports about some aspects of Creation's services I think that my long-term con visits with them are now over.....a day to see Michael at them if we travel over again maybe, but I'm not paying out for a full ticket any more...I don't think they're value for money.....

I said, yeah, explained about the baby. He was all "Well, if you want to put your kids first..." Silly Michael... So, we were trying to think of what we could do and I mentioned that I didn't really have a photo op with the nice, big smile he has. So, he psyched himself up and off we went! It was great. :-)
I really didn't get my money's worth this year, at all. And I can see in a 2 or 3 years the con being mostly SGU, if that keeps going how it is, with just 1 or 2 SG1 or SGA folks. If I do go again, it'll just be on a day pass and mostly to see all my friends who come into town. :-)
