After
castielfest, I decided I needed to cleanse my pallet with something, so I signed up for the J2 Fights Crime fic challenge. It's going to be much more light-hearted and cracky than Casfest was. It's based off the They Fight Crime! generator. You sign up and then the mod is going to randomly assign everyone a prompt based off the generator. But instead of They Fight Crime! it's more They Have Epic Sex! kind of thing. LOL For example (from the user info): Jared's a globe-trotting overambitious werewolf with a mysterious suitcase handcuffed to his arm. Jensen's an artistic hip-hop advertising executive who believes he is the reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian queen. They fight crime! fall in love! This is gonna be fun! ;-)
Had a couple more wacky dreams recently. Sadly, none were that kind. :-( The first one was Misha worked at the same company I did. But it wasn't the company I actually work for. Just some random place. Anyway, he was like part of management and I was one of the plebian workers. Anyway, I had left my computer for something and I come back to see him and some other guy looking at it. And I start freaking out thinking I'd left something open for them to mock me about. But the thing that stuck with me the most was what Misha was wearing: dark blue jeans, red t-shirt and this GORGEOUS tan/butterscotch colored leather jacket. It was a little longer than a reagular jacket, kind of like a blazer. Six buttons and there was this dark embossed area that went around the chest in a beautiful design. So, so gorgeous. No idea why I remember that particular detail, but I do. Then there was another wacky dream this morning, but I can't remember anything now for the life of me. :-(
So, every time my husband sees me messing around in Photoshop or futzing the CSS coding for LJ stuff he always asks me, "So, do you like doing X? Would you like to do that for a living?" And I know what he's getting at. He'd like me to do a job that is something I actually like rather than just a job. And possibly also a job that I could permanently do from home. But the thing is, if I did want to do any of that for a real job, I would need to go back to school. Sure, I can take existing things and manipulate them and alter little things. But it's not like I could just open up a window and whip up a web page from scratch. I'm not sure I want to, either. I mean, I like doing all that stuff now cos it's just for fun. If it became a career, I dunno... That might take the fun out of it? Having to deal with pissy clients who want everything just so and won't understand why it can't be. So, yeah. Anyway, not sure where that's going. Just rambling....
