I just agreed to host Thanksgiving for our families this year. Oy. What was I thinking? Well, honestly, with Martouf it'll make things a lot easier. We won't have to cart around 50 pounds of baby crap and food and a high chair and somewhere for him to nap. So, yeah. And everyone has agreed to help out and make it sort of potluck. So, we'll see...

And I think I may have broken my pinky toe. I slammed it into the foot of our couch about 7 hours ago and still hurts like a mother fucker. Yowch. It doesn't look weird or all black and blue and cock-eyed or anything. So, I don't know. It just still REALLY hurts. A lot. Boo.

ETA: The tow is now bruised. Joy. I can move it around, so I don't think it's actually broken or anything. Seems to be just severely bruised and sore. Awesome.

Sounds like the pain of that toe clouded your judgement about Thanksgiving! LOL

Seriously though, I'm sure that everything will go well for you. Just remember to delegate most, if not all, of the sides and desserts! If you're doing the turkey and stuffing, the cleaning and decorating, the table setting and the after party clean up...you do not need to do all the dishes, too!

Sorry about the toe...that hurts worse than just about anything! I've broken one arm or the other a total of 8 times and yet a broken pinky or broken toe has hurt almost worse! If you're not sure because of the color of the toe, tape it to the toe next to it anyway...a lot of times the toe won't change color, especially if it's the little toe!

Good luck!

Well, my parents have volunteered to deep fry the turkey and my brother volunteered to make something. If I can get mother in law to bring a side dish, I was thinking I could do potatoes (mashed and sweet), rolls, possibly another side or veggie (mac & cheese? corn?), and then a dessert. And appetizers, of course. It might not be too bad.

I've broken my arm twice, sprained it severely once. So, yeah. Surprisingly I've never broken a leg or ankle or anything. *knock on wood* I'll probably wait and see what it feels like tomorrow. We have tape if I need to do that. No point going to the ER or anything since there's nothing they can do. :-P

what have I told you about this kind of stuff, huh? You need to be more careful.

Oh, and the Thanksgiving potluck sounds fun, that's pretty much how we do it every year.

:-P

I think Thanksgiving will turn out OK. I've just never done anything like this before, so it's a little nerve-wracking.

Thanks! *eep*

Toe is actually not any better. Pretty sure it's at least fractured. I don't think it's broken since I can move it. But it's pretty spectacularly bruised and still sore. So, meh. Not much to be done, though.
