With my toe, that is.... Urgh.

It's pretty spectacularly bruised and still sore. Not huge throbbing pain or anything, but definitely sore. It's a little bit swollen, too, but it's not bent out of shape or anything. When I slammed into the couch, I whacked my toes in such a manner that they just went how if you curl your toes down. So it didn't get smashed sideways or anything. Which is something. Hubby is picking up some first aid/athletic tape and the store and I'm gonna try taping it for the next few days, see if that helps at all. I don't think it's actually broken since I can move it somewhat without it hurting. So, that's something. I'm not gonna bother going to the ER or anything since they can't do anything for broken toes anyway. So, I guess we'll see how it goes.

Which toe is it?

Speaking as someone who has it in for one of her pinkie toes - I've broken the same one so many times I'm not even sure it's actually connected anymore, it just sort of hangs there - I recommend ice and a loose-fitting but well-padded shoe. I wouldn't even bother with the tape. It will probably only annoy it.

I hope it feels better!

Oddly enough, it's my pinkie toe! LOL I've had the tape on for a little bit now and it really does just seem annoying. Heh. I think I have a pair of shoes that should work, OK. Hopefully it gets better quickly. The SPN Con is this weekend! Oy...

Ouch! I've broken a toe before. I was running to the phone to try to dial in and win a radio competition, and as I ran past my Mum's chair, I managed to kick the rollers underneath it in such a way that they went between my toes and snapped one sideways. Two hours in the ER and all they did was stick it to the toe next door with a bit of sticking plaster. So the tape plan sounds like a winner :o) If it was broken, though, some of your foot would probably bruise, too. So hopefully you just badly bruised it.

All the bruising is confined to the toe. Nothing down on the foot. I'm very happy it doesn't seem to be worse than it is, at least...

Ouch sounds like it is still bad. Having it tape is a good option. If the pain gets too much there's painkillers.

I haven't taken anything yet, but there is plenty of Advil around if I need it....

Oh no! If it means anything, when I bruised/sprained my ankle back in late July, it took a little over a month before *all* of the pain/swelling went away. The way it was still swollen, one of my friends thought I might have fractured it. But not long after that it cleared up.

Hope it takes much less time for your toe to heal completely! *hugs*

Thanks! The swelling seems to be down even more today. So, I think it's on its way to healing. I'm just going to try and stay off it as much as I can and hope that helps. *fingers crossed*
