Tron: Legacy

Just got back from seeing Tron: Legacy. I guess it was OK... *shrug*

We had just watched the original last night, so I'm not some huge long-term fan of the movie or anything. I mean, the effects were pretty outstanding (except for digital Jeff Bridges). But, I don't know. There's really no plot or anything. It's really just an exercise in "Look at all the cool shit we can do!" So, yeah.

It was OK. But I'm not quite getting all the "OMG!!!!!!! THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!" comments. Cos, for me, as cool as the effects are, if there's no story, then what's the point? *shrug*

So much plot? Is that what you mean? If so, please enlighten me. Cos from what I saw, it was dad disappears into computer, son goes to get him out, dad sacrifices himself for son. That stories been done about 1000 times. *shrug*

Wow. Yeah, did not get that at all. The stuff with the ISOs totally made me all o_O? It was like, "Hey! Here's these awesome things (no idea what) that just appeared! Aren't they cool? Oh, now they're all dead. :-(" I was soooooooooo confused.

Also speaking of cool shit....tell me you have seen our boy Eliot be the most amazing bad ass EVER on Leverage last night. OMG....SO FUCKEN EPIC!!!

The visuals were EPIC. The music was EPIC. But yeah, the plot was a complete hot mess, and I was left very very disappointed on that count. It's this weird too much plot and not enough at the same time deal. Because they tried to cram, like, 8 plots in, and all of them suffered for the lack of focus and development. But the visuals were gorgeous, imo.

CGI Jeff Bridges was creepy tho. :/
