Or crazy randomness. Whatev... ;-)

  • I picked up Christian's new CD at Target the other day, even though I DLed it the day it was released. There's something about having a physical CD that I like. Plus I wanted the lyrics sheet on the fold out BUT THERE ISN'T ONE!! :-P So, here's the weird thing though - IT'S CENSORED!! The "ass" at the end of American Made is silenced out and in Making Circles, it's "sick and tired of messing up" instead of "fucking up." I had no idea censoring like that was still going on. The DLed album is not censored, though, so I'm glad I have that. :-)

  • Macy's is now open 24 hours until Christmas. o_O Yeah, I'm crazy and went to the mall today to get a few last minute small things and saw the sign. That just seems a little excessive.

  • How Kenny Loggins Ruined Christmas Just click.

And that's all folks!

Yes, all the major stores censor cd's without telling you. It started with wal-mart a few years back...one of the many reasons I haven't bought an actual cd in years...

Haha, that makes me sound like a conspiracy theorist. I'm really not, it's really true!

I mean, isn't that what the EXPLICIT CONTENT label is for? So they can sell things as is with the appropriate warnings? Which are still ridiculous if you ask me....

I love Hyperbole and a Half, Alot! *g* She's like the uncontrollable step-sister to The Oatmeal. And, wow, what a birth scene!

I've never heard of that blog before. Someone linked it on Twitter and I was laughing so hard I was almost crying!

It is possible that there are uncensored versions of the CD available for purchase. Kind of like the same way movies these days come out with uncut versions. It seems a waste of production spending, but at least the censored version allows him to reach a broader audience.

It was the story of the Alot (http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/alot-is-better-than-you-at-everything.html) that I first heard of the blog. And then recently Wil Wheaton revealed in one of his Stupid Internet Videos that he has an Alot T-shirt, reminding me of the blog.

Possibly. I got mine at Target. I know it's available at Target, Wal-Mart and one other store. Not sure if any of them would have the uncensored versions, though. *shrugs* I get the wanting to reach a wider audience, and censoring "Making Circles" does kind of fit into that, but the kind of censoring they did in blanking out a word in American Made is just weird....

I have a copy of the liner notes...got them with my download and have the lyrics as far as I know...lemme know if you'd like me to send them to you.

But yeah the censoring is ridiculous. They did the with the EP too. I can't remember if it was on my hard copy or not, but I know I have a censored copy.

I'll have to ask a friend who got the hard copy through his site if hers is censored.

I'd love a copy of the lyrics if you have them! :-)

The EP I downloaded wasn't censored and neither is the DL of the full album. So, odd that the physical album would be....

Sure! Gimme somewhere to send them? Cuz it's like a PDF so I can't copy them unfortunately.

Just asked her and yup...the hard copy is censored. Apparently you can't say "ass" on the radio? I did not know this.

I've heard ass on the radio recently. I think... Maybe it's the station I listen to? *shrugs*

You should have an alert from dropbox...it's there. If you can't get it or it didn't work let me know and I'll resend.

Yeah...I have no idea. I don't listen to the radio much. I'm just not that type of listener. I've got one station I used to listen to in the car and occasionally in the house...but my car is crappy and it doesn't always work...so *shrugs*
